Albers to be announced as Minardi driver

On Thursday Christijan Albers will be announced as Minardi Formula One driver by the team at a press conference in Amsterdam. The rumours were pretty strong since last week that the Dutchman was about to sign a contract with the team, but the deal will be finally announced on Thursday.

Albers tested with Minardi at the beginning of the month in Misano. A week later he tested with Jordan at Jerez. The press conference, organised by the Italian team, will be held in a hotel in Amsterdam at 13.00 CET.

So it seems that the Netherlands have a successor for Jossie

As far as i'm concerned i don't really care about christijan. All he does is brag about himself and how good he is. It would be rather nice to see him flunk bigtime and blame minardi.

I just don't like the guy's attitude. He needs a larger helmet to park his ego...

Doornbos however would be a nice choice at jordan. That way he would also be able to kick some Albers ass :D

Well done to CA, and good on Minardi for recruiting someone we've heard of this time.

I hope Montagny gets the other seat, and Leinders to Jordan!

Is Bas Leinders that good?

Never really noticed him, only seen him mingling around with Baumgartner in the timesheets for one of those practice sessions.

yeah, Bas Leinders is good enough. He has some potential, faster then Albers I think but the only problem is that our @#$%& COUNTRY doesn't have any STUPID SPONSORS TO GIVE HIM MONEY :-)

No, it's very complicated, but basicly Albers may not be sponsored by Trust in any FIA organised championship until 2006. Something to do with the company sponsoring Verstappen.

You take ''T'' away from ''Trust'' and you get a new sponsor that will paint minardi cars
