Jordan has confirmed that Timo Glock will race for the team at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, as autosport.com predicted yesterday. The German has impressed for the team in Friday practice outings this year and scored two points on his debut in Canada.

Seems that Georgio was out of cash, i think Glock will do well again.

Also nice for the dutchies they've a man in F1 again after the departure of Verstappen

In the one race Glock did not only did he qualify the average position of Pantano, he beat Heidfeld (which is the first time the 2nd jordan beat the 1st Jordan this year), and equalled Heidfelds best race position whilst he was at it (7th)

Glock seems like a pretty good racer to me

this is getting silly now

what do drivers need to do to keep there seats?

I dont know, it apears that a new driver has to win the title, in there first year, in a minardi to keep there seat! whats the point? Its all about who has the most money! i know this has been a factor for as long as motor racing has been partaken in (sp?) but now more than ever, you turf out the tallent in favor of the wallet... zolt the bolt could be the best of many to come... lol!

pantano has had a hard year, but he has tallent, theres no question, glock, well thats debatable, he may have had 1 good session, but can he have 5 or 6?

There's nothing wrong with driver evaluation in a public setting!

And if Pantano wasn't giving the cash to EJ, then why should he keep his seat?

The late 80s and early 90s were full of rent-a-drivers in obscure teams.

it should be on talent that i driver gets a seat not on the amount of $$$ that the bugger brings in

Timo Glock has a lot of talent and he scored points inm his first race. What did Pantano achieve? I am not saying he is bad - he just isn't that good either.

Pantano may need a bit more time. It's never easy to start on teams like Jordan, especially with their car this year. I don't know about Timo's potential... that race in Canada seemed more like me going around Zandvoort in GPL with a keyboard.
Yes he did score 2 points, but was damn lucky, no doubt about it! But with another race for Timo, we will be more capable of evaluating his driving.

but was damn lucky, no doubt about it!

Even without the luck he had already beaten anything Pantano had achived in any race that year

i posted this before, so here it is again

Albert Park

Pantano - Last (3 laps down) Grid - 16th (2 seconds behind his team mate)
Heidfeld - retired - Grid 15th

Sepang

Pantano - 13th (2nd last - 2 laps down) Grid - 18th (last) - (3 seconds behind his team mate)
Heidfeld - retired - Grid - 15th

Bahrain

Pantano - 16th (2nd last - 1 lap behind Heidfeld) Grid - 15th (3 tenths behind Heidfeld)
Heidfeld - 15th Grid - 14th

Imola

Pantano - Retired - Grid- 15th (2 tenths ahead of Heidfeld)
Heidfeld - Retired - Grid 16th

Barcelona

Pantano - Retired - Grid - 19th (2nd last. 3.5 seconds off heidfeld)
Heidfeld - Retired - Grid - 15th

Monaco

Pantano - Retired - Grid - 18th (1 second off Heidfeld)
Heidfeld - 7th - Grid - 17th

Nurburgring

Pantano - 13th (1 lap behind Heidfeld) Grid - 15th (4 tenths off Heidfeld)
Heidfeld - 10th Grid - Grid - 14th

Canada

Glock - 7th - Grid - 16th (1 second off Heidfeld)
Heidfeld 8th - Grid - 15th

Not only did Glock pretty much equal Pantanos average qualifying result, for the first time this season, the 2nd Jordan beat the 1st one. Whether this is for points or not does not matter, Glock beat Heidfeld. Yes, Heidfeld lost some time in the pits, but glock, in his first ever GP was close enough to take advantage of this and had a misfire in the late stages of the race, whilst each time both Jordans had finished before Pantano was at least a full lap behind Heidfeld

I guess Eddie Jordan can't wait for the result of our evaluation.

hahaha

It's what I said, I hope these guys have time. Pantano is struggling, the Jordan is a tough car to drive, as we have seen with Nick. Timo got that good result, but he had us in the edge of our seats because we never knew what to expect! Was he going to make the corner, go straight, crash...? I sympathize with both drivers, but "there can only be one", and since Giorgio couldn't meet the financial needs from Jordan, well, Eddie can decide what he wants and that clearly is to give Timo another chance to race and see how he fares.
