How do you know? I am quitw sur MS would have won a race in the BAR. Jenson had a good season, but maybe only because his car was good and he had a Schumacher status in his team (until he fecked it up). Though he certainly is not a bad driver he yet has to deliver - something that DC has done many times. We'll see how JB can deal with the situation in a team that doesn't blow sugar up their drivers asses. Until JB hasn't achieved what DC has I refuse to accept he's better.

some spelling difficulties, huh? ;)
I think 97 was David's finest season, but there was Jacques Villeneuve on top shape, and unstoppable that year... as well as Schumi, but the McLaren still wasn't the best car.

About David being better than Rubens, Ralf, and Webber, it ultimately comes down to our opinions, but I don't think Webber reached Coulthard's level, and Ralf can only truly race once in a while... he may have potential, but barely ever reaches it. Maybe he is inspired in a couple of races, and also counts with luck. But about Michael, it's ridiculous how lucky he is too :|!!!

DC will win in the best car if its 100% if its only 99% he can not get the extra 1% out of himself and thats the problem.

I dont know what your definition of a journeyman is, but driving your whole career for the most succesfull 2 teams in F1, and winning 13Gps is not my definition of a journeyman, if you look under journeyman in F1 terms (i would never really call a man who drives in F1 a journeyman, it is the pinicle of the sport) look under, Andrea de Cesaris.

He's inconsistent in regard to race performance & inconsisent when it comes to stringing any performances together to build his championship quest, same thing really i guess

Whilst Coulthard has indeed driven for 2 of the top teams in F1, he has'nt made the most of either, never contested a serious challenge at a title

You could argue that at williams he was new but so was JV but he was in with a shout in his debut season & at mclaren he had the experince and race wins under his belt yet still could'nt mount a challenge in a team that does'nt favour the number 1 and 2 driver and pride them selfs on equal status

I agree this is the case with McLaren, but with Williams that is just rubbish. Villeneuve was not new in the same way DC was. JV already had a CART title and the Indy 500 win under his belt, and more than 6 months of testing the car anyway. DC had the testing but not the racing experience.

And both hill and DC werre screwed out of many wins in the Williams. 3 off the top of my head for DC due to car failures. Argentina, Spa, Monza. then theres arguable Aus one, and suzuka too.

To say DC didnt preform well at williams isnt true. He preformed as well as anyone could have hoped for, hill the same. Williams 1995 efforts looked terrible but they were let down by poor pit work and the car failing, not the driver effort

a bit off-topic, but i've been reading the BBC motorsport message board, and saw this post:

It will be great to see Jacques Villeneuve back in F1 this weekend. I think he might struggle a little in his first race, but hopefully over his three race stint with Renault he will be able to make a considerable effort to oust Bar from second place. It would be particularly enjoyable to see him beat Button, who is nothing more than an overhyped boy band member.
Mark Jones, Britain

---------------------

i'm not Buttons biggest fan, but its a bit far calling him a by band member, and the guy is British. I bet this man was crying out for another Mansell or Hill to support, and now there is Button, he is slagging him off.

and a big LOL to "son of double World Champion Ralf Schumacher"!

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

He's been in cars that people have challenged - and won titles - with. It doesn't make him a -bad- driver, it just means he's not up to the job. He's fast on occasion, but those occasions are too few and far between.

Is it that unlickely that someone has supported Mansell and/or Hill but dislikes Button? Why is it okay for a Brit to slag off DC or Irvine but not to slag off Button? Can someone please explain this to me?

he can hate Button all he wants, but keep it to himself, when talking to people all over the world. We Brits already have a reputation of hyping someone up, then ripping them to bits when we feel like it, this kind of thing just reinforces it.

i don't support Button, but would like him to do well in his career, he seems to be good enough at the moment.

DC and Irvine always seemed like wasters.
