Bernie Ecclestone says he may be interested in buying back the commercial rights to Formula 1.

Ecclestone sold a 75 per cent stake of SLEC, the holding company that owns the rights to the sport, to media group Kirch. But the German company has since gone bust and the stake is now in the hands of banks.

Ecclestone is weighing up a £1bn offer to buy back the stake
