Jacques "Desperado" Villeneuve is at it again

Jacques Villeneuve visited the Sauber factory in Switzerland this week, the team has confirmed.

Villeneuve is desperate for an F1 return after failing to find a seat for 2004.

It is thought that his first choice destination is BAR, the team he drove for between 1999 and 2003.

Villeneuve said on Thursday that he had buried the hatchet with BAR boss David Richards and was keen to return.

But that did not stop him heading to Sauber

i agree with chet. best to keep your options open. sauber cud make major strides in the next few seasons with this new windtunnel of theirs, especially if they get works backing.

Yawn, how many years have we been saying "Sauber will be a force soon"? They team just doesn't care enough in my opinion

I also agree with FRESCO and chet, now that Willy Rampf and the Sauber chief aerodynamisist have a nice new wind tunnel to help them design the car, and same spec Ferrari engines powering the car Sauber could well be a dark horse next year, maybe not as sucessful as BAR this year, but could well be there near the front.

IMO Sauber can never be top team with that small budget.. sad, but probably true.
They are already doing superb job compared to amount of money they have.

FW has the best tunnel atm, theres is slightly larger, and well they also have the likes of Patrick Head, but then again who needs head when you (Macca) have Newey!

Sauber will do good and well i think Ferrari should be scared

Sauber could be the ideal stepping stone to a ferrari drive, when schumacher retires.

Well Newey didnt design the MP4-19A, but he did do alot for the 19B as he had to concentrate all of his efforts on the abandoned MP4-18 last season and also concentrate at the same time updating the 17D that they were running.

So yes, he is one of the best designers in the pit lane.
