He had proved all his critics (and to be honest me). Although im a fan of his and he is my frav driver before Hockenhiem i thought he was crap at overtaking!

But well, just watch the race again and youll see how wrong alot of us were.

Best race of the season and his career :).

Win for hungary

I would add a spoiler and ambiguious name to this thread - some people may be waiting for the highlights.

But you are right - Button did great today.

Yep, I agree. I support Button and I think he will do really well at the next GP. I think Honda might just check their engines over a little more than usual so as to not lose Jenson 10 places.

I was also a bit of a Jenson and BAR critic in the past few GP's. Well he certainly showed me at Hockenheim this weekend with a stunning race display only equaled by the searing pace set by Michael & Kimi at the start. I hope Jenson builds on this race and manages a win later in the year.

I think Bush will win. I also think that when he does, I will start looking at properies in other parts of this world. Kerry's campaign has been so inept. Despite the fact that people are now held in police custody without ever being charged, 2 million people have lost jobs, the rest of the world hates America, and the line between church and state has never been blurrier, this whole ****ing election is about semantics and John Kerry being a flip-flopper. Americans are ****ing morons, and the Democrats running campaign are among this group.

Great drive from Button. Very sad he won't win this season. Trust me: there is no way o beating that F2004. Even if he had started from 3rd on the grid, he wouldn't have won.

yep good droive for JB..still not sure if he is can overtake..remember Alonso had a bargeboard stuck under his car when Jb went passed..but still he had lot of pace and MS has shown u dont need to overtake to win. How many people has MS overtaken this season???? oh yeah one ant indy when he passed rubens after the safety car
i don't like button at all...
but he was amazing...
espicaly qualfinig...
beating Kimi..with more fuel...6 laps...
but not that good at over taking..
look at Monty....
no one stands for more than 2 laps...

Heres an interesting stat:

Between 1988 and 1989 Senna overtook 28 drivers, i think (and thats for posistion), O and in that time he was only overtaken 1 TIME!!! By mansell at Jerez or Estroil (when Mansell was black flagged, but never saw)

wow. That really does prove how bad todays racing is compared to old

I can remember Prost overtaking Senna at Paul Ricard and in Estoril in 1988 alone. Where did that stat come from?

Mansell and Senna collided at Estoril in 1989. Mansell did successfully pass Senna at Estoril in 1990 though.

And that really does proves how amazing Senna was

It was from a book about Senna - was quite old though, it was published before his death and the 1992 season :).

O and at Paul Ricard Prost nearly overtook (well got in front slightly) but got forced into the pit wall hehehe.

Does prove how crap F1 is now compared to the days of Senna-Prost-Mansell

Do you think Senna was the best? I do.

Senna or Clark. Both the greatest IMO

That was at Estoril, not Paul Ricard, and Prost did complete the manoeuvre.

I'm not sure if Hungary would count as a pass. Prost dived down the inside of turn 1 and immediately ran wide on the exit allowing Senna to regain the lead.

Thinking about it more, I think Berger also overtook Senna at Adelaide in 1988, when he went for broke, knowing he didn't have the fuel consumption to make it to the end of the race.

Ahh yes, ive heard of that :)

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL
sounds like whoever wrote the book had a few convenient memory lapses, but still proves how much overtaking we used to get, that said, yesterday was great fun, loads of overtaking everywhere. Takuma's move on trulli was my fave, especially when webber followed him through.

on the subject of Clark, i didnt hear james allen mention his name once, which is refreshing after nurburgring where every other word was nordschliefe (spelling i know) or niki lauder

@ Imran, i think it was Trulli's car that had the piece of Kimi's wing stuck under it, not Alonso's.

JB did very well, great driving from him, even with his helmet problems.

when he first put his hand on his head, i thought he suddenly remembered "Damn! I've left the oven on!"

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael
