Loved this track. Final few turns were exciting :)!

The Osterreichring was one of the most epic tracks out there, and the videos of races on it that I've seen made electric viewing. But, yeah, I guess modern cars on it might not match that spectacle... It's still an intriguing thought though.

Yep, the final corner especially - it has the brilliant combination of a sharp turn and a sudden change in gradient all at once.
Turns 1 and 2 are brilliant as well, particularly Turn 2 with the fabulously steep approach which allows for extremely late braking. (Probably best demonstrated by MS in 1998.)

Oh, yes - I remember that with great fondness! Also, the qualifying for the 1998 GP ;)

I don't think I've seen this before, that's quite incredible!

It's looking increasingly likely that New Jersey won't go ahead now, so that means one other track that's currently on the calender will also lose its spot for 2014.

Who do you think'll get the chop?

Suzuka is without contract..

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Bahrain or China would be logical choices.
Personally I wish Barcelona had been kept as a race in its own right so that could be axed altogether, as I @#$%& hate the place - it's easily the worst track currently in use IMO, thank God we won't be going back there for nearly two years.
I don't get the Korea hate - I don't mind that track at all, in fact I kinda like it. Maybe I've got rose-tints on after the classic race there in 2010, but I think it's actually a pretty good venue.

If you pardon the pun! ;-) But back in 2005 they might not have expected to win three doubles by the end of 2012 :-)

Also I came up with a Calendar Prediction assuming we have 21 races (i.e. without Korea which is already on its last legs)

There won't be 21 races.

The teams have a worded agreement with Bernie that ensures the calendar will stay limited to just 20 races.

According to reports the Indian Grand Prix is in jeopardy because of tax demands placed upon the teams and drivers. Korea is also touted as being one of the most likely venues to be dropped.

Also I like the A1 Ring, I know it's basically a castrated version of the old Österreichring, but it always produced good races, I also enjoyed driving it on racing sims.

I remember the A1-Ring well from when I did a championship on my first F1 game - EA sports F1 2001 (I was in the Minardi - LOVE that livery! ^^)
Jaguar 1-2 in quali, Jaguar 1-2 in the race! ;)

My favourite qualifying lap was probably MS's Pole lap in 2003. Being down on Kimi at S1, then getting it spectacularly sideways at Turn 2 - and somehow managing to pull that time back during the remainder of the lap. I don't remember seeing a lap like that at any other track.

The best qualifying lap I've ever seen was this, Hakkinen at Imola 2000.

I meant in Austria, LOL.

That lap from Hakkinen was certainly impressive, but if I had to choose a favourite quali lap ever it would have to be one of Senna's.
Mansell's quali laps at Silverstone in the early 90s were pretty epic as well.

Haha, I know that mate. Your original comment just got me thinking and that lap of Mikka's is one of those that's always stayed with me.

It's looking like India will be the race getting the axe in 2014.

Nah, they'll come to an arrangement regarding the tax. They're just trying it on, but they'll relent, because Bernie won't.

From what I've read Gav they are angling for an earlier race in 2015, which would see them skip 2014 altogether.
