watching F1 in USA

Hi All,

Im going to be in Las Vegas whilst the Chinese GP is on - If I have worked out the time correctly, it should be at midnight (sat night).
Is F1 on free to air channels in the states? I'll be in a hotel so assume they should have most channels but really have no idea.

I havn't missed a race since 1997 and will be gutted if this is the first!

btw mods - feel free to move this if its in the wrong section

Cheers
Chris

Yes, F1 is carried on the SPEED channel and you should get it in a hotel room. The commentary is by Bob Varsha,David Hobbs and former Benneton mechanic Steve Matchett.

The commentary is okay, Hobbs is funny from time to time but Steve Matchett is great because of his mechanic background in F1. It might not be as great as a BBC or SKY telecast as there is not much of a preview before the race ( only 30 minutes pre race ) but they do have a guy on the grid ( Will Buxton ) who does a grid walk.

F1 is indeed carried on Speed but it is not widely available in hotels. On the contrary, you'd be lucky to find a hotel that has it.

Just as a back up plan (which is what I do), get a Speed live streaming from the web. They don't seem to be as popular as those from BBC/Sky and thus, they are less likely to crash down/buffer.

Really, I have been to a few hotels during gp weeked and they have carried speed. I guess all you can do is call the hotel and ask what stations they carry?

Thanks for that, might take my laptop then as a backup! Now just have to hope my plane lands back home in time for Bahrain!

If you get a membership on F1.com, you can see live race statistics as they race. But if you go to McLaren's site during the race, they also show telemetry from Jenson and Lewis' cars!

Very true. Just in case, I know two other channels you can watch F1 on, but they arn't in America. In the UK, it's BBC and in Australia it's One, although Ten has it, but unlike One, it's delayed
