My god snooker is bloody dull! Almost as uninteresting to watch as Golf...or Cricket....or the Fishing Channel Live.

and how can it be called a sport? i know it takes skill and a lot of practice, so it's a hobby at best, but not a sport IMO. same as darts.

It changes from hobby to sport when competition starts. In the same sense that chess is a 'sport'.

I enjoy playing (though as with most I prefer pool), and I will watch the final if I can, just as I'll watch Augusta, but that's about as far as it goes.

is it definately called a sport? I was sure it is classed as a game?

Probably is a game to be fair. I was just picking an extreme example - is that the first time chess has ever been described as "extreme"?
