Corona cars aren't particularly fast when it comes to stock car racing. That type of wall isn't particularly unusual either. There have been far harder hits than that, at much higher speeds, in almost identical impact conditions. The hit itself didn't look bad, but the car just blew itself apart.
The hit was no worse than say, Jeff Gordan, Las Vegas, 2008. Had that been in a Truck, Nwide, or Cup car, it wouldn't have been fatal. The fact the roof came off shows the car had a pretty series issue (either by fault, or by design).
