:( Sad to see this. I know riders accept the dangers of road racing, but the organisers have to do more for rider and spectator safety at these events. Too many people have died in recent years when they shouldn't have had to.

R.I.P.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

But what can they do? Any changes would sanitise the events and thus make them less appealing to compete in. Enough of the cotton Wool culture, let people take calculated risks, its what the entire history of the human race is based upon.

RIP anyway.

Always very sad news, these events are indeed dangerous but it's not like a regular circuit where you can extend grass or gravel sections and have shock absorbing walls instead of concrete. Big shame, the guy seems to have had a very nice curriculum and worst of all, left one child without her father
