Well acually 4 typs of racers then:

1) good at Q and R (Fernando Alonso)
2) not so good at Q but good in R (Takuma Sato)
3) good at Q but not so good in R (Jarno Trulli)
4) not so good at Q and R (Markus Winkelhock)

Maybe stupid examples but you get the picture right? =D

there's so many different talents and aspects to racing that you can't generalize this kind of thing. even within qualifying and races, there are things to consider like tire conservation, setup awareness, and all sorts of other considerations.

5) Mobile Chicane (Alex Yoong)

It has all to do with your concentration level, and especially your ability to drive in situations where there's a lack of.

it's impossible to drive a full race 100% concentrated. Some guys will make mistakes when they are not on a high concentration level, others will drive further like a programmed robot.

Maybe the fastest driver will make more mistakes when he isn't fully concentrated. This makes him a qual driver.
Other drivers can maintain their pace, and this will make them more consistent!
The best would be to be fast in both situations;-)

I experienced it myself during alot of sim/real races. Sometimes I just have a kind of 'black out' moments during a race. It seemed I have driven my laps, but I don't remember them too well. Afterwards seen in the telemetry I can't see any difference in driving styles/laptimes.

Jenson Button then classifies as the latter due to the majority of results he's got eh? ;)

Muks, I've written Chetson Button many times, notice the apostrophe, what it indicates if you take English grammar rules into consideration :p
