Again another year has rolled around and another 1000 has finished and i would like to say a big congrats to Ford for getting a 1-2-3 first time since Longhurst and Mezera in 88 in a seirra. The rain at the end did bring spice to wot was a rather ordinary race for what bathurst is renowned for. Good to see skaife crashing out and DJR finally gettin some good results. lloks like ill have to wait another year for a Jason Richards win

i would also like to express my disgust with the police down there. Bathurst is all about fun. ive been there many times when i was a kid, and really had no problems where we camped. i admit that in reid park it was a bit scary but other than that it was nearly fine at the top. wot should happen is that the campers can still have a area where they fence off so they can do there burnouts, doughnuts ect and just leave it to that area then it would be so much better than havin 400+ police taking the fun out of it. if you want a limit of bber maybe 2 cartons per person per day not 1, its just not bathurst. if you want a family area do it somewhere else down the bottom where the people who just come and go for the 4 days. If this keeps going it WILL ruin the bathurst atmosphere

I am considering going to Bathurst next year because of the crackdown by the Police! I have been following Bathurst for over 30 years and have never been for the race, I have gone for practice but never stayed because of the drunken disgusting behaviour of the yobbo's up on the mountain. The sooner these morons stay at home the better it will be for the paying spectator to enjoy the race without getting spat on, pissed on, sworn at and generally having the race spoiled by these clowns that want to drink 4 dozen cans of beer a day. Tell me how do you even know whats going on when you are in a drunken stuper?

Interesting little piece from the race:

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

I admit that fans should not become writeoffs and they should be controlled. im just saying that 400+ police is just to much it turns the place from a party atmosphere into a grammar college it will just ruin the atmosphere. when we went there the only problem was ppl burning @#$%& and ppl doing burnouts and @#$%&. if they stomped out burning of stuff and had a special area where they got breathalised they could do doughnuts and burnouts ppl would not notice the crackdown as much

Tell me, why do you have to attend a major race meeting to run amuck? If you want to do Burnouts go to the drags. Ever since we have had "V8 Supercars" as our major category the behaviour levels have dropped dramatically, it seems all the boofheads from the Rugby League have found something else to screw up with their bad unsocial behaviour. Even going to a normal ATCC round these days you have to fight the boofheads who are only interested in getting pissed and generally causing other spectators discomfort. When I do go to race meetings i pay the extra to watch from the pits because that is where the enthusiasts go to get away from the yobs on the hill.

you dont have to run amuck its just the select few that make it bad i normally find that when ppl have a few drinks in them ppl r normally more happy but its the select few that make things bad and y should the ppl that drink respncible spoil it for the rest. when we got QLD Raceway we generally find it not that bad
