I obv dont know much about the physics of nascar racing etc, but imo that was a fair move.

Considering should that Pruett guy have expected a move ?? I mean going by JPM's early pace and moves ??

After reading about that race it really seems asif Montoya just owned the track lol

I watched the race on ESPN2 and it was amazing first how quick he got back to the front in 20 laps, second at times in the race he ran a second quicker than everyone else, third before he pitted for the problem with the fuel he had a 15.5 second lead and I haven't seen a lead that big in a NASCAR race since California 2002.

It'll be great to see how Montoya does when the Nextel Cup rolls around to a road course. :D

Dirt racing is great racing! Fair play to JPM for being a racing driver and not just a Formula One driver.

Yes, but what about the other elitist comment

"Fair play to JPM for being a racing driver and not just a Formula One driver."

I dont see that as elitist. I see that as praising a driver for driving what he wants rather than the unfortunate European situation where contracts and team boses forbid there drivers in taking part in what they want to. In Daytona we were going to go karting but a couple of the European drivers werent allowed to. It was all a bit silly.

It is elitist in that people assume that F1 holds the best drivers. I'm sorry, but if Ralf Schumacher (or insert any driver from the 5th team downwards) was to enter into any other single form of motorsport, he'd be @#$%&. He might win a sportscar race where other people could perhaps carry him, but he'd still be @#$%&.

If you look down grids for LMS you'll find a host of F1 drivers who, strangely, aren't in F1 any more. Yet they were considered part of this so called elite.

Juan is the perfect example of somenoe who enjoys racing anything as opposed to most F1 drivers who only want to race F1 cars.

Which is why I labelled him a racing driver, as opposed to a Formula 1 driver. Someone like Ralf Schumacher is a fine example of an F1 driver - he'll race nothing but F1 cars.

Hey look at that. Nextel cup winner now too. Not bad for a rookie.
