I am playing the 1984 f1 season with gp3 using season spec/nearest layout of tracks.

perfromance file(track spec) and physics is from pedro's 1984 gp4 mod.

however, niki lauda is yet to win a race,I am now at dallas.
in reality,he had won 2 races by the dallas grand prix.
4 times he's taken pole, but always lost the lead at the start.
what should be done to replicate his actual performance?

Clearly a performance file issue, you need to increase his race performance value.

Some time ago I uploaded a full 1984 season set for use with GP3-2000. Perhaps you might like to try this performance file instead... Of course much depends on which teams you have included in your season and the team order, so you may need to make some adjustments. Btw, the full season set is available from [www.megaupload.com]

Hi,

I saw your Performance File for 1984 and I have a question.

My concern is knowing how and formulas to find each of the values for each team, racing driver, failure, power ...

I'd like to understand how to get these values to make a carset that matches the real F1 season.

Can you explain for me ?

Tks

I thinik you can use prblanco's perf calculator to make realistic performance files.

From memory I started by setting the fastest driver qualifying performance to 16384 (Prost) and the most powerful engine bhp to 810 (Brabham-BMW), then used excel to calculate the other values based on actual qualifying times over the season and actual top speeds (from Monza or Hockenheim, can't remember now). Race performance values work on the same principle, but its a bit more arbitrary with some artistic licence, and from reviewing the pref file it seems I didn't really bother much with the race range value.

Of course the performance file is only the first part of the puzzle - it was also necessary to edit the magic data to give realistic lap times and to make AI and human drives similarly competitive. By no means was it a five-minute job.

You can´t expect the same results as in reality, sometimes people forget that GP3 is a racing SIMULATION,
results and performances can come close to reality but that is all, it is "only" a game but one of the best.
So take it as it is and you will have a lot of fun...

Happy racing from Germany
Helmut.
