I just uploaded to my homepage [drafi5.bplaced.net]
DTM 2009 carset 1 + 2 for 1.13 and one for 2k.

Jean Christophe Derasse (jyce) for cars and cockpits
Paulo Silva (X_Acto) for jackmen
Francisco Valdez for jackmen and Dunlop tyres
Hans-Helmut Wiencke (drafi5) for artwork, compilation and modifications

jyce did a great job and painted all 20 cars of the DTM 2009 season, which just ended
last weekend at Hockenheim with the old and new champion Timo Scheider.
You will find the carsets in the "More Series" section, so enjoy these beautiful cars,
special thanks again to jyce, I am always happy to collaborate with him.

Happy racing from Germany
Helmut.

Untill the end of the year, the last brazilian permanent track will be done (Caruaru).

F40, touring carshape, Porsche carshape, you have a good cockpit view with the shapes
but the liveries look a bit strange...

In order to make the liveries look less strange I make the windscreens on the livery bmps. Even though some sponsors get covered in this way, in your rear view mirrors you can see a real car approaching you instead of a speeding Rubic's Cube on four wheels

The example being the following livery which comes from WTCC 2008 carset. The dark grey places are windscreens while blue marks on the both sides of the nosecone serve as headlights

Here you have a Ferrari livery:

This is what the Ferrari livery looks like when fitted to the Porsche carshape. It's not perfect but looks more realistic, I think. As i said, it's enough to make windscreens and the headlights in Photoshop

Very nice to see that we can use the touring car shape with liveries that fit in :)

What about the rear lights? - as far as I can see they too are in the Ferrari bmps.

Will it be possible to make round head lights (as BMW) or will it be too much stretch??

Perhaps it is now possible to make the WTCC series with a matching carshape and bmps... wonderful news :)

Great work, Przemyslaw, that´s what I did in my F40 challenge carset but I used blue
windscreens like Aldo did in the F40 bitmap, I will test the dark grey places.

Helmut, to be honest, I took the idea from you because I noticed this solution in the F40 Challenge carset you mentioned and I really loved it. It was a pretty clever thing to do.

I decided to make dark grey windscreens because I think it looks more realistic. When you look out of the window you don't see cars with blue windows. What you see is darkness through which hardly anything can be seen.

As you can see, they are visible when placed on the carshape but it's down to Porsche's rear shape why they are not well visible.

>Will it be possible to make round head lights (as BMW) or will it be too much stretch??

Well, I haven't tried to do it. I suppose that it would be too much stretch because, as you see, the fragment of a livery which is responsible for the headlights is extremely small. It would be a hard thing to make the lights roundshaped...

To be honest, I also find a Porsche with rectangular lights quite disturbing :)
<EDIT> I have just got cracking with making small elipses on the livery bmp to make lights roundshaped but what I managed to make were small and narrow futuristic headlights which in no way resemble a circle.

Sure it is possible but it demands more work. Usually the car painters painted their cars in the way that open wheelers are painted. Now they would have to paint liveries so that they look good on a particular carshape. The task is manageable but quite a demanding one.

God I had a good laugh at the "Rubic's cube"-line, that was awesome. Thanks for that abdelkader!
