Anyone know if there is an solution regarding the monster PO using Belini´s tracks? at some parts on the Shanghai circuit i got well above 200%

tried to fiddle around with the gfx settings but nothing seemed to help on thoose parts....except turning everything off and made it look like F1GP :) that helped to get the PO down to above 100....

Belini tracks are built by a diferent way than the "normal" ones...

Original GP3 2000 Spa-Francorchamps

Belini 2000 Spa-Francorchamps

Belini uses lots of 1 unit-sized sectors, instead making long sectors... Thus, his Spa has 8,5x more track sectors than the original GP3 Spa...

Also, his tracks are too much detailed, which requires more track commands (almost 5x more than original...)

Due this, Belini tracks requires, at least, a 2,4GHz CPU... But to run them with none or minimal lag, I would suggest to get a 3GHz CPU (a 6000 Dual Core also works...)

Forgot: due this, the track DATs goes over the GP3 1.13 limits, making it available only for GP3 2000... You may look for the reduced versions...

Well i do have a
AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core 2.3ghz, 6gb ram(even thoe xp can only use 4), 512mb Sapphire Radeon 4830 hd gfx card.

its a shame really, cause i really like his tracks, as u said, very detailed.

i noticed that powerful computer may do nothing on these tracks. the gp3 engine can't deal with such charges. i notice the same with extensive view-distance commands :(
probably a very powerful cpu can help but you need specific hardware. gp3 here runs like i have an old 286 while i can easily deal with the newest games. could it be the ATI family, dunno. Old Nvidia + detonator drivers were a perfect combo in those days

the problem is the graphics card, it's too new:( directx 10 cards
give a really hi PO, a 2.3ghz cpu should give an average of around 90%
except at the old hockenheim where you'll be in the 130's.

try turning off antialiasing and v-sync, this may improve the PO otherwise
a directx 9 card is the only solution I've found.

Thanx Belini, i just need to find thoose options, u or anyone else know where i could find them?

its really a shame cause u´r tracks are extremly well made!

i could try and dig out my old Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb card and see if that would make it better.

just did some testing...in cockpit view or any onboard camera the po is above 150% all the time..but if i watch it from the external view(trackside) the po is down to 30-40%......

how is that possible? there should be more gfx on external then in the cockpit view?

it's true, i noticed less PO from T-cam also than cockpit view. From external camera it depends of how crowded is the scene. With few cars i have not much PO, at the race start i have slow motion.
still i have slow motion everytime i pass from the pit entry/exit and there is a car pitting :(

hmmm...i think my computer is acting up or something...cause when i dont have any drivers selected the po is between 110 and 160, it switches really quick between thoose to numbers...and if i select an onboard camera, example the one on the right side of the airintake looking forward the po drops to 20-30%
now if i select a driver the po is 230%!

same track, same cameraviews and all....wtf is going on with my computer? i tried to update my gfx drivers but nothing changed....the last time i had XP 32bit installed the po was between 70-80% and it all went smoothly.

its starting to irritate me alittle bit hehe

so you have vista? sounds like the same problem I had when I upgraded my pc,
it's not your pc, it's just that gp3 is too old now, unless anyone has found
a tweek you're only going to get it to work properly with xp and a directx9 card

No, i had Vista x64 installed earlier *there is another thread about it here* and i opted to go back to XP x32 again, so here i am....but another turn of events, now everything works perfectly! PO is down to 60-70% and on your tracks its around 100%... i´m abit confused hehehe.

P4, 2.8, XP. Ditched the onboard graphics adaptor and purchased and 'old' Radeon 9250. PO dropped 20% or more, and was much more consistent. Had to set the AA & AF to 0 and vertical refresh to off. No problem with Belini tracks anymore (except in the rain), PO mostly under 90% and tracks like Singapore around 55% avg. Coming out of the final chicane at Suzuka it climbs to 90% or so, but thats the worst of it.

What also helped alot was reboot and with task manager turn off all the extraneous stuff that loads with Windows. Sometimes if I don't the PO will go a bit crazy, but all in all I'm happy with the way the game plays now.

Sorry, forgot to mention, 1024 by 768 at 21.3 FPS and turning off the vertical sync in the ATI panel had the most dramatic effect.

About GP5, we need to "order" Geoff Crammond to make lots of editors, cars templates more easy to paint than GP4, increase track and cars numbers and lots of things!!!

with the Sapphire Radeon 4830 hd, 60/70% a in race too?
I'd love to get a new card, what did you do to get it to work?

What's the best processor and 3d videocard to use GP3? I want to buy a new PC, but I'm afraid the game doesn't work!

My sister has a Dual-Core, 2gb memory, geforce 7200... but she has Vista. The game doesn't work with GPxPatch (and it closes when I try to use Fraps to capture videos). :(

Someone can help me, please? :)
