GP3 Edit Problems

Hello, I have recently purchased a new laptop but unfortunately I am having problems exporting my GP3 data to the game via the GP3edit. All i'm met with is a small error box stating: Failed to patch Grand Prix 3 files!

Has anybody experienced the same problems? and if so how did you get round the problem?

Any light anyone can shed on it would be appreciated.

did you installed the gp3 1.13 patch and the recommended decrypted gp3 1.13 exe ?

Yes I have done both of those things. Clutching at straws perhaps, but would it be something to do with the User Account Control?

What did you install first?

Hi again, you have to install the Decrypted GP3.exe file first and then the GP3 1.13 Patch,otherwise it won't work!
If you did install this way then it is better to delete everything and try again, it's better to take your time for it and install it properly then nothing at all, GOOD LUCK!

Yes it does, You need to run GP3 Edit as an Admin

I always thought you need to run GP3 1.13 patch then the no-CD patch afterwards?

I did wonder as I put the 1.13 patch and put in the no-CD then the game always asks me to recalibrate the graphics and I had to stay no everytime.

Is it because I done it in the wrong way?

NO...everytime you change vital sources of the game with patches or edits it asks to recalibrate, that's normal.
Always say NO...you can do it manually after the game started up.
If you change seasons or carshape or carsounds it will NOT ask you to recalibrate the game.

I wanna run GP3 with the CD so I don't wanna install Decrypted GP3.exe. And I have the same problem as CW1. Can I run GP3 Edit without install decrypted on Vista ?

I can't answer on that one...sorry!

I have a new PC with Vista from yesterday and I can not run GP3!
Installing from disk NO PROBLEM...but if you wanna play the game(the normal one without extras), desktop gives a black screen and that's it...
hopefully can someone tell us in clear steps what to do...from the beginning;
Otherwise is this the end of the GP3 career in this community for me and many others...

I don´t have Vista and so I can´t help you, sorry. In alternate you could create a
partition with XP/Win98 to run GP3.

right click on the desktop icon and choose the compatibility for xp or for win 98. Then save it and try again to play.

I have a problem with GP3Edit too (sorry to hijack the thread!)

Everytime I export a carset to the game, it never changes the drivers, teams, artwork, etc. Why is this? If I try running GP3Edit in Admin mode, will that help?

Can't say what you need to do but I am using Vista 32 and it works okayish although I do have to start with admin rights every time. Vista 64 will probably not work as it is known to have problems with older games.
