Night races

Hi people. For those who like night races, i've just uploaded in the download section\misc graphics a night race pack.
It contains:
- new nightsky bitmat (a sky full of stars)
- the night_tarmac bitmap
You just have to set Gpxpatch to use them, no need to modify any jams: it works well expecially in ovals and city tracks, and it is pretty realistic (due to the game movement, the stars seems to shine...).
To have the feeling of a real night race, of course play in a dark room at evening :-)
Hope you like it.

P.s. Coming soon, a few CART tracks i finished and/or fixed somewhat (st. Petersburg, Toronto, Vancouver, Portland, Mexico City...): for these, i will give full credits to the authors, of course. If anyone does not agree, just let me know.

Very much looking forward to seeing the CART circuits.

(Any hope that you, or anyone, might finish/fix the Belle Isle Detroit circuit? It's the one CART 1998-2001 circuit {and now, IndyCar circuit} that GP3 lacks having in raceable form.)

Well, about Detroit, i'm working on it, but it seems to be quite hard.
About texture, almost ok: i fixed the flash/flip, i added the fence extension on the track and on the pitlane. But the CC line needs a restyling (the CC often crash at the first corner, maybe need a CC couching command, but i noticed that it also solves texture flashing...)and exiting the pit still remains a graphic bug. Therefore, there's a bug in the pitlane (the cars stand on the grass...) and i still not solved it.
And, above all, sometimes i solved a problem by chance...and try to learn..
A few circuits are almost ready.

do you mean in the parking area? i remember a track like this (belle isle maybe)
if yes, copy paste an 0xe9 command from the original Buenos aires pitlane to this track. in the guide to gp2 conversion i made a recall to this process... good luck :)

You beautiful creature...:-)

Yes Roberto, it is just the parking area. I'll try asap.
Detroit is still alive...

A question for Roberto.
I read your tutorial about the conversion gp2-Gp3, in particular for pitlane. Detroit Belle Isle pitlane has 24 sectors: so i must have the commands you mention exactly in the required sectors (0-5-9-10...)
But what about a pitlane with more or less then 24 sector? I have to move the commands to make them match the new pitlane?
Thanks.

It was a silly question: the commands must be in the appropriate sectors due to the lenght and shape of the pitlane, the numbers were only an example (i mean, not always the parking area is in sector 10: it is important to put the right commands in the right sectors).
Have i finally understood?
Please, say yes ;-)

well done Claudio,. yep the example was just a guide. obviously you put the tarmac in a way to cover more space possible. consider that the car parking is around 46 units (15 cars) put thew command 1 or 2 sectors before... importanrt thing, DO NOT EDIT THE COMMAND, seems this is a preset one and if you edit it you lose it :)

It is possible to edit the values of this command.
If you doble click to the command editing it is not possible.
But if you click only once you will be able to change values (length)
directly in the properties box.
The problem is the jam ID 837 (can not be found) and the rotation value
which will be deleted by standard editing

indeed. what i mean is that if you open the property box and click 'ok' you will lose the 'road' appearence. the tarmac will appear distorted. this happens with the id837

Hi Roberto,

maybe you misunderstood what I meant. If you use the pop up window for editing
(double clicking on the command)the command will be lost.
If you only mark the command (one click), the values of the command appear
in the standard property box placed at the bottom of the track editor.
Here it is possible to change every value directly.
Of course you mustn't change JAM id and rotation

oh you mean that one, i never use the property box, it reduces my work space.
