Software mode ?

Hi,

Is anybody here work on new tracks (like Shangai, Barhein etc...) on softaware mode ?
My computer is very old and only this kind of tracks work on it...
I can't converts HW tracks to software, it doesn't work good.

Can you help me ?

I've done some conversions for the new tracks like Fuji, Bahrain, Shanghai, new hungaroring and Istanbul.

Maybe you could already check roberto scandura's site.
There you'll find a sw Fuji that I made based on his beta.
If this works and you like what you're seeing, let me know.
I can send the others by mail.

And no, I'm sorry, but Spa is out of the question.
I have not the knowledge of track making : I just do sw conversions for myself, and remodelling/placing objects.

And the only layout that I know off, is belini stuff which is 180kb. To many work for downsizing or you should delete all objects and loose a lot of graphics. No thanks.

Hi, thanks for the tracks, but the game freezes after the lights screen, I read you need to lounch the game in sofware mode, how do you do this?

that's weird. You ask some tracks for software mode and you don't know how to launch them.
Be sure that you followed the install rules well.
(putting jams in gp3jams and NOT gp3jamsh)

Anyway, start gp3/go to options/graphics/set 'render device'
to 'software 3d'/ go back to main menu and drive.

Well, I decided to ask. Maybe you could make a software conversion of the recently released Yas Marina circuit? It'd be a great thing if you could.

I can not say its impossible; but if i make it, i cannot test it because the game crashes when i try to start the game in software modus.
Nevertheless, i'll give it a try.
I will contact you later to have a testdrive.

OK. I hope you succeed. It'd be amazing to have Yas Marina for software mode.

After all, you can leave out some elements of the track in order to downsize it. You know, Earth won't explode if you get rid of a couple of adboards or something . The track is breathtaking anyway.
