vista & gp3 2000

Just got a xps 420 with vista.
3gb ram 500gb hdd
nvidia geforce 8600GTS card.

Tried gp3 2000 using
gpxpatch 3.92
doesnt start, says:
"an error has occurred. open the log file.

More or less I have the same problem. Can anyone help?

try to pick up the latest driver

I have the same problem.
The game runs perfectly when I pull up it without Gpxpach.
But when executing the Gpx pach it happens the same error.
Please helps

I have the latest driver,
but it didnt make a difference...

For the time being the "soultion" I found is this:
right-click on GPXPatch icon and choose properties; need to check the box "run this program as administrator".
Now the GPXPatch starts the game, but
1. there is no music in menu
2. game crashes to desktop just after loading the track (I checked the .dat flies and they seem ok).
Have no idea what to do next
