BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - QUALIFYING

Welcome to the Qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Daniel Paiva is the first one of the first group who goes out.

His first time is already a nice time.

Hans-Helmut Wiencke can't beat the time.

Antonis Baltzo, who was yesterday the fastest, can't also beat the time.

The brazilian Lucas Jeha are able to drive into the Top 3.

But a few seconds later, he will be beaten by Frank Vandeneynde.

Javier Angel is the last one of the first group.

Rodrigo Vilela in the second group is surprised by the weather. It rain in the first sector!

Alessio Rossa had already problems in the rain and can't drive a good time.

Vilela has also his problems.

Yesterday, he had the wrong setup. Today it's the rain who make Daniel Finney problems.

His team-mate Nick Vooght, who was yesterday very fast, can also not drive a good time.

Ken Vingerhoets see already the sun...

Viljami Kutvonen has in his second run no more rain. Can he make a high jump?

Ryan Gault had problems during the installation lap minutes ago, so he has now only one lap.

Looks like, that the track is still too wet on some places. Kutvonen can't drive a better time.

Gault can only drive on place 21. What a disaster for the english Falcon Racing driver.

But he is not the only one, who can't drive a good time. Dean Kittleson can't manage a better time.

Marcus Bongardt must be definitly happy, because he has drive in the first run already a good time. His second isn't good.

Paulo Silva in his second run can manage a better time.

Paiva can't beat his time.

Andrew Jewitt can't also beat his time, but he is still on the 4th place.

Roberto Scandura close the Qualifying. He will start tomorrow on place 16.

And here are the results:

Paiva grabs pole in Curitiba
Daniel Paiva produced a great early effort to take pole position for the first GP3 World Series race in Curitiba.

Hans-Helmut Wiencke was a tenth shy of Paiva's time and will line up second. Frank Vandeneynde did well to take third for Falcon Racing, nipping in ahead of Red Five's Andrew Jewitt, who will start fourth.

Home driver Lucas Jeha was fifth, with Antonis Baltzo starred again for Atlantica Racing to take sixth, just ahead of VTR's Marcus Bongardt in seventh.

"I think we have a good car for tomorrow and we have an extremely good shot at winning the race," said Paiva. "It's good to be clear for the first corner, there should be no-one I can run into from pole. I think the field's pretty responsible though, everyone knows how tight it is here. Overall I'm ecstatic with today's result. We've had our ups and downs but to get GP3 World Series' first ever pole position is a big deal!"

It's a good felling being on pole and gather the first pole of the season (and 2 points)! But the weather gave me a huge help! Tomorrow is the day that really counts! And I'm on good position to win! Let's see how things will turn out...

SRS BELGIUM Press Relaese

First in behalf of the team we would like to wish or pilot and friend Drafi a happy birthday and say thanks for the wonderfull second place on the grid for the first race.
Its a result that we did'n expect after a not so good testing run some 14 days ago,But where there when it counts and i hope for a good race .I'm sure Drafi can pull it off maybe even give Daniel a run for his money. As for me starting from 9the my hope lies in a good start without any accidents and hoping to finisch in te points. The team is ready and the drivers are like a good wine ,Maybe the a little old but surely not bad.

BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - THE RACE

Welcome to the 50 Miles Race in Curitiba. Daniel Paiva was yesterday saving the pole-position. All 5 lights are already on...

GOOOOO!!!! Daniel Paiva can save the first position. But behind him, there is a nice ballte for 2nd place.

Hans-Helmut Wiencke, Andrew Jewitt and Antonis Baltzo fight for the 2nd place!

And Antonis Baltzo is the winner! 2nd place for him after the first corner.

Wiencke has a bad start. Marcus Bongardt can overtake the german and save the 4th position.

But the german can beat the other german in the second lap. Also Dean can overtake Bongardt.

Stefaan Seys fight with Frank Vandeneynde for a better place.

Antonis Baltzo fight with Andrew Jewitt also!

And Andrew Jewitt win the battle!

Daniel Finney is out of the race. He had a transmission failure! Very frustrated weekend for the english F1N Racing driver.

Paiva flies over the track!

Javier Angel overtakes Stefaan Seys. Place 9 for the spanish Atlantica Racing driver.

Paulo Silva is the first one, who goes into the pit.

Ryan Gault follows him.

But what's that??? Paulo Silva is out of the race! He was driving out of the pit, but a few metres later, his suspension broke!

One lap later, Baltzo goes into the pit.

The greek man have no problems when he goes out of the pit lane.

Nick Vooght comes out of the pit and must now deserve his place against Rodrigo Vilela!

But he lose the battle!

One lap later, Vooght overtakes Vilela! What a revenge! (little commentar: What a @#$%& screenshot ;) )

Paiva have no problems! He is still on the 1st position.

James Buster is out of the race. His electric goes wild.

Ryan Gault want overtake Vilela...

... but it doesn't work.

But one lap later, it works!

Paiva's team-mate Viljami Kutvonen overtakes Ben Parker.

And then, Paiva is in the pit.

He comes back on the track as 4th.

Vandeneynde was the leader for only lap.

Lucas Jeha, Roberto Scandura and Alex Moser follow him into the pit.

Stefaan Seys is the leader. But he must still do his pit-stop.

Kittleson overtakes Wiencke.

7 laps before the end of the race, Seys is in the pit. Paiva takes the lead back.

Vandeneynde overtakes Wiencke.

Vilela has a sad home gp. He is on the last position.

Both Racing Cats drivers battle for the 14th position.

Kittleson is again in the pit! What happened? Well, the team says to us, that he had a electrical problem.

Vandeneynde are now on the 3rd place.

Kittleson is now on the last position.

Jeha is in a good position to overtake Wiencke.

Last lap for Paiva!

The next drama! Marcus Bongardt was on a good 8th place, but his transmission brokes! He is out of the race.

Oh yeah! Jeha makes the brazilian crowd happy! The brazilian overtakes Wiencke. He is now on the 4th position!

Daniel Paiva hadn't problems during the race! He wins the Brazilian Grand Prix in Curitiba.

Andrew Jewitt scores a nice 2nd place.

Vandeneynde complete the podium with his 3rd place.
