I'm now in my 5th season of belini career, hauled belini f1 from qualifying at the back
of the grid in season 1999 to go into the last 2 rounds of 2004 season just 2 points
behind schue with my #1 car (piquet snr), ferrari had already wrapped up the constructors
championship back in hungary.
the race
so suzuka, wet qualifying, put piquet on pole and pk (#2 belini) 6th. race day is dry,
the grid very mixed from the wet conditions, schue snr only 17th, my championship
hopes are looking very good
I lead from the start with piquet (been given a very strange 3 stop strategy that works
a treat), by the last lap I'm running 1 and 2, piquet with a 28 sec lead, my last turn is
with #2 car (pk).
degner 1 - lap 53
after working my way through from 6th pk had been holding off ralf and kimi for the past
30 laps, the gap never increasing more than 3 sec so a bit of pressure the old head.
into degner 1, yellow flags and debris, by degner 2 I'm showing p1, what!!!! oh no...
it's piquet
turns out he was taken out lapping the punctured minardi of bruni.
at least I'll get a win, all I've got to do now is hold off ralf and kimi, no problem me
thinks as they're 1.5 sec back.
spoon - lap 53
into spoon, aaarhhh...... electrical failure, can't change down!!! not a problem for spoon
up the hill through 130r, turn the pit light off and remember to brake a little early for
the chicane as I'll get no engine braking, works a treat but ralf is now crawling all over
my gearbox.
now the hard bit, getting out the chicane stuck in 6th, exit the chicane still in the lead
running down to the sf line, attempt to block ralf off but somehow he squeezes through
the closing gap between my car and the pit wall. on the left I see kimi's front wheels
appear, as I cross the line I'm looking at the clouds airborne after touching ralfs right
front, sadly after 53 laps ralf wins, kimi 2nd + 0.031 and I get 3rd +0.087.
in half a lap a one two ends up a 3rd and dnf, sadly the championship seems over as
schue snr finishes 5th, rubens grabs 4th to keep his championship alive (just)
I go into the last round in brazil piquet 106 points to schue's 111 with rubens on 102,
lets hope the locals can put some voodoo on schue at interlagos

didn't make it though, end of season schue 114, piquet 111,
pk finished 8th on 47 points, belini ended up 2nd in the
constructors 158 to ferrari's massive 216, gave me a nice budget
for 2005 I'm in quite a commanding position after 6 races.

I'm in the middle of testing a new version of belini career, not sure
when I have chance to finish it though it now spans years 97 to 2007
(although I've hardly started work the 97 tracks) it also includes
tv bonuses, bug fixs etc...

I'm in the middle of testing a new version of belini career, not sure
when I have chance to finish it though
