gp3 loading problem

Hi people!!!

I've playing GP3 in my previous computer without any problem, but know i've started using a new laptop (Toshiba Portégé) which for sure is more powerful than the other and i cannot even load the game!!!

Can anyone give me a clue about what's going on, and how to solve this issue?

Do you configure this with Windows 98?

It's necessary...

The options is on "Acessories"... I don't know how can I say in English, but in Portuguese is "Assistente para compatibilidade de programa".

Then, you configure GP3 to Windows 98.

A new laptop is a joy. Bet you have XP SP2 on it? What fun! You have to run GP3.exe in win98 compatibility. Right click on the .exe file and open the compatibility tab. You will see the options there. Run the game from GPxPatch and use debug mode, low verbosity. That will get it running reliably. Some tracks need a tweak under SR2 or they might crash to desktop at a certain point on the track. Let me know if that happens and I'll repeat the way to get them to work properly.
