TRACK INFO
clermont ferrand (charade) is unfinished so anyone wishing to complete it please do. All the
scenery/buildings and most the tree placements are completed, view distances
and cameras are only roughly done.

Clermont-Ferrand was created using google earth, the original track was 8.055km which is too
long for gp32k, as it turned out google have missed the very last section of the track
so it worked out well to cut across early which has created a really nice blind fast
downhill right hander, the new track legnth is 7074km.

GOOGLE EARTH LOCATION:
LAT: 45°44'33.91"N
LON: 3° 1'55.04"E

things to do:
the pits need converting from modern
pit tower needs downsizing
trees need placing (last 3 turns)
track adverts (1965)
marshalls
cameras
view distances
magic data needs programming properly

I did plan this to be a modern version of the classic charade cicuit from the '60's,
it's understandable why the last grand prix was in 1972!!!!

Thank you very much, Paul, for this great track, I already liked Charade v1.0
by Slygue & Klein, but this is a complete new feeling driving the track.
So thanks once again for this Christmas present.

Happy racing from Germany !!!

I tried the track in GP3 and 2k with nearly the same carset, performance and physics files in slot 16, I wonder because in GP3 the lap time was 45 seconds
better than in 2k, I felt that the track is shorter in GP3.
Has anyone the same results ?!

Happy racing from Germany !!!

Seems normal to me. I used the same performance file in 1.13 and 2k and the pole laptimes were within 0.4 seconds.

@ St.Hubbins:
0.4 seconds are okay, but not 45 sec.

@ Pontini:
1998 genjams are not available at the moment.

Happy racing from Germany !!!

I couldn't find them either, I'm sure I uploaded them with the 98 pitcrews,
oh well, you need to open the track in the track editor and change these lines
to 1999 to get the pit graphics

gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\1998_timebox1.jam
gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\1998_timebox2.jam
gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\1998_timebox3.jam
gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\1998_pitbox1.jam
gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\1998_pitbox2.jam
gp3jams\belini\tracks\1998\canopy1998.jam

can only think you've made an error converting the the magic, could also be
related to lap time adjust, got to remember the magic isn't programmed.

just thought......
an easier thing to do is copy the 1999 folder and rename it 1998 and all
the files within.

It were the magic data, I used your dat.file as it came in the rar.file
for both games, I inserted the charade md and md2 and had nearly the
same laptimes, how do I extract the magics with GP3 TrackEditor 2.2.0.804 ?

Use CMagic2000 to extract the md2 and convert it to md with Roberto's 2k-1.13 converter, then insert the new md file with Cmagic for use with 1.13. No need to use TE at all.

Fantastic track!

I use GP3 and I didn't need to convert or tweak anything. I like the middle part when you drive flat out through the twisty section.

Merry Christmas to all. :)

It is difficult to know exactly what people will want from the magic data but I have been working on a version for use with default physics and a reasonably standard performance file. It seems that this is very much what Belini had in mind.

I didn't know what I wanted to do in the end:) that's why I
uploaded the track, I found it a bit annoying in a modern f1 car,
I tried messing with the phsyics to simulate a '65 car but it was
taking too much time. be nice if someone finished it off.

you need to download belini genjams v2, once installed copy the folder 1999
(gp3jamsh/belini/tracks/1999) and rename it 1998, then rename and all jams
inside to 1998.

its an amazing track....reminiscient of the Nordscliefe Nurburgring version for GP3...so much better than the first attempt at the track...well done PK.

I would never have been able to attempt it myself, but to the person who did the first version of the Charade track, well done to them too!
