New Track - Interlagos 1973

It's good to have this forum back again.

While it's been down, abcdefg has finally released his long promised "old" Interlagos track.
It can be downloaded from this web page:

The bad news is that it's for GP3-2k only.

For GP3 you can use the Starchild version Interlagos 1973-80
based on Warren Jenks GP2 track.

No disrespect to Warren Jenks and Starchilde, as those tracks were made years ago, however the GP3 version (which is the one that I'm familiar with) is quite unraceable, as the AI line not only takes them a bit off the track often during the course of a lap, but it also has them all crash almost every single lap on the front straight. It looks fairly awful as well, and not just in comparion with abcdefg's verions, but just plain poor with graphical bugs along with its dearth of detail.

abcdefg has just updated his Interlagos-1973 track for GP3-2k with 1970s' style narrow and high black and white kerbing.

Makes it considerably more realistic and challenging.

You can make this great track work with GP3 this way:
use GP3 Trackeditor, open the downloaded dat.file and go to
"Internal Objects Definition" and delete one object ( I took
the last one), save the dat.file. It has now the size of
136 Kb and works ! If you become fuel problems insert
73Interlagos.md by Major Tom, try it out and enjoy !
The only problem is that I really don´t know what object
I deleted, but...

Thanks a lot drafi5 for making it work in gp3. I edited the track using your method and posted the gp3 compatible version in forum.rscnet.org for those who're not familiar with track editor.

Looks like only deleting the last internal object has impact on file size. I've tried deleting some other internal objects and it doesn't seem to work.

Superb work abcdefg and big thanks to drafi5 for fixing the GP3 problem.

I enjoyed the track especially the very fast first sequence (the fast left handers with the long straight)

Did your birth certificate come with an apology letter from Durex?

Could this also be the solution to your latest barcelona 1994 track. It works in gp3 but once I insert magic data it ctd.

It always worked in GP3 for me.
I suspect that the problem is probably with your magic data.
(Make sure that the magic data "bump table" has at least as many track sectors as the track does.)
