help, suggestions, anything!!!!!!

just found a big big problem with the track editor, the vertex/point numbers
are only showing when you rotate the object, making it impossible to edit.
numbers show up in safe mode, so it's the drivers that are causing the problem

anyone running a nvidia 6600gt card that doesn't have the problem using xp or
98SE please let me know what drivers your running otherwise I'm screwed :(

in track editing , but a GeForce 6600 GT running with 77.77 drivers.

when you view an object in the TE it shows the point numbers for modelling
and the vertex plane numbers for texture assigning, these have now disappeared.
ie: the pagoda tower @indy has 118 points and 39 texture plains so it's
impossible to edit.

or "Texture Data" ? Did you have the troubles since you upgraded to 6600 GT or
after installing new drivers ? In "Object Definitions" I have no jam preview,
at the moment I have no solution for your problem, Paul.

If it's internal objects, you can repeatedly click "show points" button to force TE to redraw with "show point numbers" turn on until TE can draw the number properly
don't let other applications' window become active or you'll have to repeat the above process. TE's own pop up windows don't hurt.
I know it's a clumsy way. but still much better than rotating the object.

already tried this one, doesn't work for me, even tried contacting paul hoad,
no response as yet, problem also arises with the careditor

I checked out the link, I've tried virtually everything I can think of
but no luck. the oldest drivers that will recognize my card are 66.93,
things are not looking good

That would be a very sad day. We have all these seasons incomplete. Your tracks are the best thing that happened to this game. Please tell us that this can be fixed. There was nothing wrong with all these tracks you released so far.

The drivers you suggested for optimum speeed with your tracks(29.xx?) were not fully DX9 compatible. I only know this because some Netkar tracks wouldn't display properly with them.

I didn't have any problems with my old t14400 running dx9 and the latest
drivers, trouble was is it expired, the only problem I had with the 29
drivers was the new generation of games wouldn't run. I'm using xp pro
don't know what the differences are between the two OS's.

Something weird happened here:
1) open a track in TE
2) click an internal object to select it, right click to bring out the menu then click "View 3D Object"
3) TE displays the object without showing the vertex number
4) click the "+" next to the object, and TE displays the vertex number but the object disappeared

Have you tried changing some of the settings in the Video Properties. When the drivers are installed, the default settings are not always ideal for every application.

Have you tried contacting Laurent over on the GP4 forum? He's the guy making the 3D/Track Editor over there and a good guy to boot! - maybe he can help. Would really hate to see this fantastic project come to a premature end!
