Alex, as I said GPX is better, but if you have the odd some of £19.99 left, so what? I haven't done a full race yet, but after installing the (semi-) official update from the EA page (they says it's not from them but directly from the developers) the game looks even better. Just have to make the no-cd patch work with it (It currently crashes the game after updating, original exe runs fine, I just hate inserting CD's all the time)

What are the minimum specs to run GP4?
I've got a P3-500, with 448 Mb of SDRAM,
GeForce 2 MX with 32 Mb of RAM,
Windows 98

Those pictures look frickin awesome, to say the least!!!
If you can import old 80's carshapes and carsets the same as GP3, I'd be in heaven!!!

But does the game look as good as it does in those shots when you're playing it? And does it play as well as it looks? That's what I'm concerned about, having become so used to the GPX series. If only there was a frigging demo...

I'm also interested in the FIA GT mod - from those pictures it looks rather incredible!

Yeah I know! I didn't make that very clear actually, but I know they're from in game. What I meant was, do the cars actually look that good when they're driving round....etc. A lot of games have a nasty habit of looking wonderful in screenshots then looking like a pile of @!#$ when you actually play it.

well this is like this: in your own PC it'll look even better, if you think that these shots are .jpgs .... :-D

you need a good PC to run it smoothly.. that's for sure, and yes, guys are preparing some old "eras" for f12001 also.

one thing i know.. for those who play with keys, it's awfull to drive... as it seems to be drived with whells. and some gpx series addicted guys as us have sometimes to spend some time (couple of thousand laps :-D) to get used to it.. but after that all the guys say that it's better than gp3 2000!!! This apart of the gfx looking, cos' in that we have all the same opinion: Stunning!!!

@Morbid: that 3D renderings were made by F1Racer and he has around 7 years of experience with the program he uses to make them: Lightwave...
check out F1Racer site here: F1Racer

@Kodamu: * check if you have antialiasing enable.. if yes, disable it
* you can also set some gfx to medium as tracks and animations, the game will still look awesome...

@Ozzy: there are some 3d rims updates available on the web, then they look like those.. but prepare to get slower fps's... but you'll even get glowing brakes with them :-D

check out this zip i've made with shots from the Brazilian GP : Shots from Brazil

ah, i've forget this: i know that 9 (!!!!!!) guys already played online... one in Brazil, other in Italy, etc.... of course they had all good and fast connections :-D
