GRIP PATCH
removes default player grip (16384) player car now uses grip from performance files.
gpxpatch car power team dependant needs to be ticked for the grip patch to work

COCKPIT VIEW
changes player cockpit view

please report if they work or not!!!!!!

I tested the beta cockpit view patch, it works!

But I'd like to make a suggestion:

I guess the patch has "inside" itself the x y z coordinates, right? Could you make them editable? So the user can mess around and find the position he thinks it's better. It would be useful too to make cockpits for other cars, like, stock, nascar, etc.

I patched my gp3.exe with the grip patch too, but didn't test it properly - yet.

someone else maybe able to do, all I have is some tools that enables me
to make simple patches.

well at least it didn't crash the game so it may work, try drivng 2 cars from
the same team and drop one cars perf value by 1000, you should find your lap
times will be a couple of seconds slower.

Here is some info I`ve gathered for editing the cockpit view camera if you want to edit the gp3.exe with a hex editor. I don`t think the tyre sprite/poly settings work when changed though.
If you know of any way to alter the size of screen thats drawn in cockpit view for the track please let me know. Because the bottom of the screen is blank(greyish coloured) in raised views, also the tyres get chopped off half underneath like a mask is being used or something.

I think it may be possible with some tweaking to use the change cockpit view angle in gp3 to lower and raise the camera instead of zooming in and out along the y axis.

Don`t know if anyone is interested but I think I`ve found the mirror camera settings.
Just been driving around with the mirrors reflecting in the wrong direction! (same view as forward).

Gonna have a rest now from this.

About the mirrors, is it possible to "turn them on" in the onboard view?

Amazing, after those years GP3 is still being developed.

It would be nice to have a simple tool, like supersonic said, to change the coordinates.
Maybe something like cpd tool where you make a txt file and you export those values to the .exe.

I`m working on a cockpit camera editor, downloaded masm gonna do some reading to learn a bit win32asm.
In the meantime, when I`m not too busy, I`ll write 3 simple patches to change the y, z and tilt angle seperately with say +5 -5 increments. Need a few values to play with so 3 patches could turn into about 30 seperate patches.
x co-ord is not as useful as tilt angle in the cockpit.

Don`t know of any way of turning on the cockpit graphics (mirrors) in onboard view. Maybe with a trainer it MIGHT be possible.

I`ve been using a memory searcher called TSearch to find the change cockpit view angle in gp3.exe
