4 ; some chance. same chance multiplied with race perc.

The above will help, but some tracks just need a better AI line.

"Just" consists of quite a bit of work.

You can try different values for that parameter, of course, the lower, the fewer crashes, and vice-versa.

You shouldn't be thanking me.
Roberto Scandura posted this bit of information in this forum, fairly recently.

"and the values of failures....?

the values = percentage?"

Are you asking about the values for failures in the magic data?
If so, then the answer is no, they do no equal percentages.

the value for a car failure = 744.66 and is rounded to these values

1= 744
2= 1489
3= 2234
4= 2979
5= 3724

ie: 3 engine failures = 2234

there's always randomness involved with failure type

The failure rates for all of the individual teams has an effect, too.
The failure values in the magic data effect the relative frequency of the "types" of failure that occur.

I would guess that if the teams have failure rates greater than zero, then even if you set the magic data to have values of zero for all types of failure, the game still has the cars fail as often as the team failure rate in the gp3.exe has them, but will make the types of failure completely random as there are no magic data failure values for it to refer to.
