Hello,

My name is Frank and I'm new to this board.

I recently purchased GP2 and have loaded it on my PC. Spec are AMD K6-2 400 MHz processor with 8 MB video card, 96 meg RAM, Windows 98 (original edition).

The game loads and runs just fine, and I can "drive" with the default keyboard settings. The one thing I can't get is my USB Thrustmaster wheel and pedals to be recognized by the game or to calibrate everything. Downloaded one program from grandprix2.com and that almost got it to work, but I couldn't complete the calibration and am stuck.

I think my computer can handle GP3 and will look into purchasing it and loading that on my PC, but I am concerned about the same issue with whether or not I'll be able to get USB wheel and pedals to work.

I'd appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

The Thrustmaster wheel and pedals works just fine on IndyCar Racing II, NASCAR 2 and NASCAR 99, all by Sierra.

Sincerely,

Frank

GP2 by itself won't work with a USB wheel. Someone made a patch for it a while ago so all is not lost. Check one of the GP2 download sites it should still be out there.

Take care.

I don't know for sure, because i use serial FF wheel, but the specs on the box of GP3 says they support all latest FF-wheels. Considering that, i would say it should support usb wheels as well. I play GP3 using PII 350Mhz, so you should be able to play GP3 as well on your system.

Good luck and welcome to the forum by the way :)

Ibanez guitars played by people like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai make me wanna go fast!!

Glad to see GP2 lives on! Make sure you download Steven Young's GP2Edit if you don't have it already. I loved that editor, unfortunately I put GP2 out of my spec limits a while back :(

Try www.gprix2.com. When I used GP2, I went there for everything. I'm pretty sure they have a patch for that. If you can't find it, e-mail the webmaster. He knows everything!
