Keyboard stops responding, help?

Hi, here's a weird problem I've had and I hope someone can shed some light on it.

The problem only developed recently but it's a major issue now, since after a few minutes of play on GP3, the game will stop responding to the keys I press, meaning I can't switch views, change the display... or DRIVE.

The odd part is, even the Num Lok and Caps Lock keys won't respond in the game, but Ctrl+Alt+Delete will (thankfully). I've checked the following:-
- Keyboard is connected properly and works without fault for typing and in all other games I own.
- System resources aren't being drained, GP3 is one of the lowest spec games I run.
- Keyboard will respond for a few minutes and then stop.

This is baffling me a bit - I was planning to completely re-install everything GP3, but since this would take a long time and I'm not sure if it would even solve the problem, I thought I'd post a thread up here and see if anyone could help me out first.

if you want to reinstall, make a backup copy of your carset using GP3 Edit, then copy your Circuits folder and JAM folders (both H/W and S/W) then do the reinstall.

To get everything back just do a massive copy and paste.

And do a search of this forum - the very same subject has been covered a million and one times before

Have done a search, it kicked up a load of topics regarding nVidia graphics drivers. Yes, I have an nVidia card, but the thing is I have never installed new drivers... they're the same ones I was running before, when the game worked perfectly.

Then it's DirectX 9.0 that you're probably using!

I had the same problem! Try installing an older version of DirectX!

I take it back - my intelligent graphics card automatically updates itself d'oh!

Anyway, the original ones are back on now and I've turned the auto-check off... I'm getting a new card in a few weeks anyhow so fingers crossed the problem won't re-appear then.
