Are there tutorials / helps on track-editing?

Hi,

I was fooling around with the track-editor, but i don't know where to start. I can see different things but have not the slightest idea what it does.

I know you cannot start from scratch with the track-editor, and so i have to use anotother track as a base, but i would like to read more about how to do it.

Does anybody know where to find a nice clear documentation for this?
