Editing sound in GP3-Season 2000

Is there a certain way you must edit it.
I downloaded file that replaces the existing file and its supposed to put in the sounds from F1-2001. the file it replaced was "gp2ksnd4.dat".

I also tried using sound editor which modifies "gp3sound.dat"

None of these affected the sound in Grandprix3-season 2000

Can anybody help me?

not sure which language gp2ksnd4.dat is for, gp2ksnd0.dat is for english.
to stop corruption you need back up gp2ksnd0.dat, replace sound id 0 first,
then save, open gp2ksnd0.dat in a hex editor and copy/paste lines 10 to
450 from the original gp2ksnd0.dat back into the edited version, this will
restore all the pit messages.

sound id 30 the engine limiter sound I've never had any luck replacing.

gp3sound is the original gp3 sound.dat, but when using this you lose
the sound of the plank, this is a bug in the original game.
