The attached image shows the forthcoming IRL2003 carset from the Smoking Pen. The set shown below is the GP3 1.13 version, but the GP3-2000 set will feature 22 cars of the 2003 season and all of the drivers. Liveries are those from the Indy 500. Team arts for both GP3 1.13 and GP3-2000 will also be available.

The carset is done, I'm just waiting on the Texas race so that I can give you a full season set of performance files to go with the cars. Expect to see this carset released around October 15th.

The Pen

Hola

me han facinado sus trabajos
me parecen fenomenales
me gustaria saber con que software trabaja
y porque en mi gp3/98 no funcionan algunas de sus pistas
a mi me gusta mas IRL & CART que la F1

Garacias.

Great work, man! but why don't you use CART and IRL carshapes?

PLay - I've never really found a carshape that works for me, so I just stick with the original GP3 shape and "close my eyes" to the fact it's not quite right.

Hey Pen, Who's going to drive alongside Dan Wheldon in the (fourth??) Andretti Green car. (The Klein Tools car). Another thing Pen, This carset just looks perfect, but: Where are we supposed to race in?I believe it's asking too much, but Why don't you build the Indy 500 oval for GP3? I believe it's not difficult for you, cause you are the best creator I have ever seen. Just think about it!

The fourth Andretti car is driven by Robby Gordon.

There already is one, check the CART and Other Tracks download page.

Couple of points here..

First off, the #27 car, (the second Andretti Green one), will be driven in the GP3v1.13 set by Dario Franchitti, although the carset will come with helmets for all the alternate drivers. In the GP3-2000 set, it will be driven by Dario, Robby Gordon, (Indy only) and Bryan Herta - Dario will get to drive at Motegi, as Dan Wheldon has a full season of racing in my carset! Aslo, Michael won't retire at Indy, but will see out the season.

Second, building an oval isn't as simple as it should be. GP3 is designed for left-hand banking and, as ovals have right-hand banking, the track doesn't rise up, it slopes down to the left! I intend to work on some IRL ovals over the winter, but I want to crack this issue before I release any. once I've cracked it, it should be (relatively) straightforward to reverse engineer the F1 course from GP3-2000 to use the jams and objects to make indy with 4 corners. But don't hold your breath.
