Hi Orloff

If you dont mind I would really like to use your 2015 cockpit shape for a 2015 Megapatch that I am working on. Would you mind explaining to me how you went about working it into your 2015 season. I have installed a 2015 carshape but I cant work out how to get the special 2014/2015 cockpit shape into the game too. Can you help? I am using GP3 2000 of course.

You know, I didn't do anything special for that ) just used 2015 exe file from Pirx's UNIVERSE Mod ( generally, all I've done was started as add-on to his Mod - I just repaint bitmaps and evolve some ideas & structure - I think he's made a great complicated work that seems still underrated - but left it a bit unfinished ). As for the cockpits, there is one thing due to transparent/painted area ratio in bitmap, and that was all - though I tried various carshapes, the cockpits looked the same ( the choice was the carshape with lesser bitmap distortion, I didn't have any difficulties with cockpits ). I never insert any cockpits into the exe files as well as into the carshapes. At least, there are the latest GPxPatch versions where the ability of changing cockpits is present. You can try to use that exe, no matter from my mod or from UNIVERSE ( placed in GPxpdata\bat\2015 ).
Not much to help you but every little helps, as said an old lady p**sed in the sea )

Thanks for your response. I will try to mirror what you have done in your patch and hopefully I will get the same result for cockpit shape.
I really like the high resolution helmet Jams you have made. Are you happy for me to use those in my own 'megapatch'?

I think, every single patch for everyone who loves this game should be applied as good as possible,
according our poor abilities to improve it, otherwise why would we do it?

You develop further what great Belini started. I myself just collected and restored all Belini-seasons (98-2010) by slotting everything into GPxPatch. His work is of great grafical detailness and was shattered all over GPG.org. Then added season 2011-15 by myself. And as deeper I went into gp3 as closer I came to cockpit modification. In 2015 no one had the skill to do this. I tried it for days, even developed a workaround with some transparency tricks but gave it up at last. Primary reason was: CockpitEditor (can´t remember exact name) stored the work in a file, but it was impossible for me to get it sucessfully written into the gp32k-exe - no one knew a solution these days. Now I read CGI has expanded GPxPatch to mod cockpit-shapes - what grrreat news it is!

Your helmets and other grafical works always were and are the finest to get, you push pixelwork to the limits. masterpieces! Thank you for that, I always integrated every work of you with pleasure!

Well, let me now look back a bit. About 10 years ago I peeped to this Forum to see some updates for GP III - to that moment I hadn't drive it since 2005 or so. I never thought to paint any stuff by myself, never did anything like that before, moreover, had no idea how it could be done and how it all worked at all. I downloaded almost all stuff from Download section trying to understand how it goes on. It's a pity, that was the time of a sunset of this game, and now I only can slightly regret that I came too late. And these ten years I tried to learn it. Cannot say I achieved all I wanted, but came a little closer. I'd like to do more than I did but human abilities are not endless. So I am grateful to the people here on Forum who helped and supported me all these years. I cannot say how long I would continue, by various reasons, but I can summarize there were the decade of study and creativity.
Thank you.
So, maybe it sounds like a farewell, but it's not so far )


F1 2014 Updated

what's new:
- all rounds helmets in higher resolution,
- Silverstone event replaced from holemad's to tsauer version ( due to recent swap pitlane layout ),
- some little things changed here, there & everywhere.
