* Description *

1) 2003 Car shape for GP3:

These F1 car shapes was totally designed according to REAL measurements taken from the 2003 Technical Regulamentations and some pic's of the 2003 cars. They also have new suspensions design and t-cam.

I used as base the following info's (2003 cars):

- Ferrari's wheelbase, length and heigth: 3100 mm, 4545 mm and 929 mm, respectively.

- Ferrari's overall bodywork, according to some pic's and to the regulamentations.

- Ferrari's front and rear suspensions, according to some pic's.

- BAR and Renault's rear wing, difuser and rear light, according to some pic's and to the regulamentations.

All the other measurements were taken from the 2003 Technical Regulamentations.

Note that there are any heavy texture distortion!!!
The exceptions are the top of the side pod's, but... we'll survive :)

You have to choose 1 of the 5 shapes. They are the same, with the exception of the attack angle of the wings:

H means high attack angle (high downforce, Monaco, Hungary, etc)
M means medium attack angle (medium downforce, Spa, Indianapolis, etc)
L means low attack angle (low downforce, Monza, old Hockenheim, etc)

So, mbj_cs_2003_HM.cs3 means:

mbj: my initials :)
cs: car shape
2003: self explanatory :P
H: high front wing attack angle
M: medium rear wing attack angle

Obviously, the shapes do not affect the car's performance.

2) Cameras on board

No maths here... I just tried to place the on board cam's just as real as possible, in according to some 2003 pic's and videos.

TAX DODGER ;)
There are previews of it on the site he linked to, and I gotta say, they do look amazing. Gp3 / 2000 certainly has come a long way.

Long, long way! :)

I want to make other car shapes... And I know a way to make any shape look realistic, without editing the tyres and with no texture distortions!
But I need a lot of info. The Technical Regulamentations are essential.

So, if you could send me technical (measurements) info's, that would be great :)

Maybe a 80's shape? F3000 shape? F-Renault? I don't know.

What about helmet shapes? If I get the real measurements, I can also design a good helmet shape too.

Maybe a 80's shape?

i'm looking for someone to do a GP4 80's shape if you're intrested.

To SuperSonic... Are your carshapes for GP3, or GP3 2000 Season?

montoya, will you still convert those other shapes for me for older carsets?

TAX DODGER ;)
Very good cam file.

But with the "helicam" it is not exactly in line with the car as I tried to drive it with the view and it is hard as it is in a stragne angle from the car.

So what are the cam settings so I can keep it in line with the car?

Did your birth certificate come with an apology letter from Durex?
To tax dodger... Yes, I would be happy to. Send them in an e-mail to me @ paulwillins@fsmail.net

b-tone... I do not play/edit GP4 because of my machine!
Montoya... I play GP3 v1.13 and the shapes are working very well. I don't know if they work with GP3-2000.
bigears... I tried to place the helicam like we see on TV :) If you want a a helicam "in line" with the car, you can easily edit the cameras via GP3edit.
You can try something like this:

X: 0
Y: -5000
Z: 5000

Direction: 0
Angle: 45
Roll: 0

Do not edit the other fields.
That's it :)

It would be very cool If someone could send me the technical regulamentations of any year. The tyre's and car's dimentions are essential ;)
Some pic's are welcome too.

See ya
45? no no...

I mean -45.

See ya
Brilliant, yeah you said it right with in line with the car.

I will fix the settings later. Cheers mate!

Hi. The carshape and camera views look great in the previews, but I can't download them. I keep getting an error message which says cannot find server. Any chance it will be in the downloads of Grandprixgames.org?
Thanks
Oh, please report it to the web master!!! :(

Any chance it will be in the downloads of Grandprixgames.org?
No.
I think they cancelled my login and I will not register again.
But I will upload the shapes to other sites soon!

Hey people, please :)
I am willing to design more carshapes.

Some pic's are welcome too.
Thanx

Supersonic,

You can find technical information as to height, wheelbase, and front and rear track of Formula 1 Ferrari cars of many years at [www.ferrari.com].
More detailed technical information about all the various Formula One cars of all years can be found in the various "Autocourse" Formula One annual books.

Sone good websites to start looking for photographs of Formula One cars of all years are:

[www.forix.com] (A pay site.)
[barphoto.host.sk] (Very high resolution photographs mostly of current and recent cars)

ooohhhh thanks!!! :)

I searched throughout the FIA's site, but I could not find the technical regulations of any year but 2003. I need these regulations to design the shape...
The shapes I made based only on pictures got very horrible :)
So, thanks again. I'm gonna check these links!
