Good evening everyone.

I see a lot of people asking about new circuits. I have an idea.

Instead of asking, and sometimes complain that this or that circuit doesn't made, each of us could learn a tutorial item. For example: I know the track shape, put the heights, edit limits, kerbs and run-off, insert the textures on the walls, insert grass, gravel and asphalt in run-off areas, and edit cameras.

We have Zieli, who knows making CC-lines. We could have a specialist in setting the scenery (and edit horizons), another to insert objects (buildings, marshalls and trees), an specialist to convert GP2 tracks and so on. I'm sure Scandura will help us with the problems that may happens. And then, we will have more quality tracks.

Just download some Beta-tracks to start practicing! Soon, I'll put more beta-tracks made by me, beyond Saudi Arabian track.

Hug!

Good morning :)

I think it's a good idea, and that's quite what we are saying since a few months there but without effect yet.

The fact is that it's quite easy to make a good track lane and a hardest job to get into the other parts of the track modding, so we don't have such specialists because we are all starting at the same point and get stuck at an other point of the modding process.

The other thing is that we never really tried to make a 'modding task force' and are all working on our favourite tracks alone. However, I think this thread is the good occasion to build up that 'modding task force' now. So I think if people are interested to join in, they should show their interest and add their name in this thread.

For my part, I'm in with you Rodrigo.

I'm not a trackmaker, Rodrigo, but besides that I think we have similar skills.
At the moment i'm doing the 2013 season, so you might know my stuff.

For help or advice you can contact me anytime.

@moinet: So good. Only choose an item. It's so great to better some tracks.

@dirk: The problem is: some people only angries about don't have some tracks. It's not difficult to lear ONE item. And I can make all things that I put on description!

As I've yet made my track-lanes, my next step is now to learn about the sceneries. i will focus on it. Nogaro will be a good start (it's flat :) ), Laguna Seca will be more "hard-core" but as it is an update it will probably be easier than starting from scratch.

@dirk : maybe you're not a track-maker but, if I'm aware, you are updating them, so you have the skill we need for this task force.

Only some track positions:

*Surfers Paradise (Scandura's beta): needs all things;
*Estoril (Scandura's beta): needs objects;
*Laguna Seca: needs better textures (I can make this);
*Saudi Arabia (my track): needs objects;
*Dubai (Scandura's beta): needs all things.

We can start with these tracks!

That's a nice start.

I'm making a Laguna Seca update with a track lane that looks pretty good me thinks (see my 'workshop thread';) and savinaclaudio had done some texture updates that I didn't insert in it yet. I suggest that nobody put his hands on this track before I have finished my work on it so that we will have only one single update for the track.

I've downloaded your Saudi Arabia. I will have a look at it this week.

It's a good idea to work only on one track, after some item has been fixed, so we don't have to work again on a new version (and lost all the job already done).
In my opinion, we need:
- first of all a good track layout, and a good cc-line
- then the objects
- then the graphic
- then we can fix the MD file (for example, to have the proper track grip, air resistance, CCS entering and exiting the pits, rain chance...).

Bye

I'm not a specialist, but I've heard/read somewhere that when you alter a dat file the cc-line goes weird. Shouldn't the cc-line have to be made in last place ?

For what i know only working on the cc-line itself or on the track layout could alter the cc-line.
I mean, if you move objects, change jams...you are altering the dat file but not the cc-line.
Anyway, what i meant was: be sure we will have a good layout and a good cc-line, otherwise the track is not playable.
If the cc-line must be done at the end, no problem, it is important to have a cc-line maker ready to work on it.
Bye

the ccline is lost and the game may freeze only if you alter the track layout changing angles or lenght of any sector.
it is still a good idea to leave it for last because you are free to work also on the track width and the kerb width, or in street tracks with the distance of the barriers.

May I say that it sounds obvious ? ;)

If I remember correctly, there was a thread (long time ago) where someone was complaining about the loss of its cc-line after moving some objects or changing some textures, hence my question.

Anyway, thanks for the info, both of you.

@scandura: I agree.

By the way, this is (at least for now) my last Saudi Arabian version:
[mega.co.nz]

If someone wants to make a decent scenery and put buildings and starting lights, no problem!

@EricMoinet: yes dear, you are allowed to say it sounds obvious ;-)
I was just reporting my experience: never lost the cc-line moving or changing objects/texture.

Bye

@Rod_vs : if no-one minds I will take a look at your track today and try to start my "scenery modeller job" on it. :-)

Hi to all,

if a track needs a working cc-line, just give me a call
I will do my best, parallel to my work on my own projects
