Shanghai 2005: video material?

Hi folks,
here's a new quick made update. I made a small update for Shanghai 2005 by shutt1e. I modified several things but don't expect it to be complete - it's far away from complete - that's why it is a beta version. A new version with greater modifications will follow.

IMPORTANT: You first need to have the "SHANGHAI TRACK FOR GP4 VERSION 0.9 by shutt1e" installed.

Here a list of improvements:
Some low res. textures replaced by high res. textures; new sky colour
Modfied .col:
- all tarmac runoff areas behave like tarmac surface
Modified .dat:
- new cc-line
- new trackside cameras (two alternatives), .dat conatins alternative 1
- new JipMappings on track and in pitlane
- original 2005 positions of split times and pit speed limit on/off
Modified Magic Data:
- increased track grip
- decreased tyre wear
- rain chance set to 15 %
Modified .gp4:
- pitcables and fuel rigs for eacht team in the qualifying and race added - traffic lights at the entry and at the exit of the pit lane added - a "100 km/h" sign at the entry of pits added
- new pit tarmac
- tyrewall at the entry of pitline added
- completely new runoff areas as seen in 2005 GP (except before Turn 5) - new 50 meter, 100 meter and 150 meter signs
- new kerbs in Turn 11 and after Turn 12
- new flat adverts beside Turn 1, Turn 6 and Turn 12

I want to thank:
shutt1e for his efforts to create this great track,
Caelen for some hi-res textures used in this update,
Willb for some hi-res textures used in this update,
Ricardo Lampert for his great white border line,
b-tone for his 2005 pit boxes,
Lo2k for his great tools: 3D Editor, WadUpdater, TexResizer
and Marc Aarts for the tool CMagic 4
without whom this update would not exist.

Here some screenies:

1) pit exit; 2) and 3) pit entry; 4) new pit tarmac, pitcables and fuel rigs

Concerning copyright/permissions I can only say: As shutt1e was so kind to allow new improvements and a new release without his permission I of course do also. Fell free to modify this track and then release again. But if you use Caelen's, Willb's, Ricardo Lampert's or b-tone's work get their permission at first, please. Anyway, that's a beta and I will do a greater update next.

Please read the gp4form.txt!

@Karan: Maybe you could upload it also to Dragon Racing. When I get finished the greater update/final version you can delet it again.

Well, it's just a beta version with minor improvements. Now I'll beginn with a greater update. This will take its time and I am not able to say when it will be ready for I will make greater changes on the .dat file. So be patient:)

Cheers,
Ruboy

Great job Ruboy !
The Sinopec advert on verse of roadsign (pics 1 and 2 s/f-straight) is looking like on mirror and inverted.
Just a detail and easy to correct by you on final version for sure.
Anyway well done !

Gravel surrounded by a catch fence, with a video wall inside?! what the hell?
Is it like this in real life, can anyone explain why? :D Looks odd

Are there likely to be some elevation changes on the next update? I noticed the other week that Shanghai is quite hilly in places.

Thanks for an excellent track, anyway. I think this is a great one to drive.

I'm trying to get the elevation and corner date from someone , don't if can manage it.

I remembered had sent photos from air to someone , who said want to modify the track according to the pics , but I forgot whom he is.

Yes, the rework of the .dat includes the change of banks and elevations, too. That's why it will take some time.
About the video wall: It was also there in shutt1e's version and I simply didn't change it - but I will do that in the next version of course:)

A tip for when you do the elevations, don't use profiler to do all of them unless you're extremeley good with scales. What I do atm, is place certain sectors at the correct heights with profiler, displace everything up to / down to that point, then smooth with profiler :)

New link added in first post.

@zeppelin:
Perhaps you could give me some helpful hints in detail how to create the best elevations.

I have Shutt1e's 0.9 installed, but I still get "send error report to us" error while loading the track. =(
