Track creation is driving me crazy

Hi guys, I have a few questions regarding the track creation

Is there any easy way to create the cc-line? The one which I have to add sector by sector is getting me crazy

If I only edit the .gp4 and .dat files the track is going to be okay? or does the .bin and other files must be edited as well?

Thanks in advance
Nathan

- Why don't you change the 'length'-value while creating the cc-line. You can change the radius of the new section with your mouse. It is quite easy and a good cc-line won't need more than a few minutes ;-).

- When you changed the .dat-file it always advisable to recreate the .bin- and the .col-file. Else you may have some CTDs, but not necessarily. Just click on 'Convert dat' --> 'Create bin/col-file'. Again: It only needs a few seconds to do so ;-). But there is no need, to edit the bin/col-file in some special way.

If you only want to edit the cc-line, you only have to do it in the .dat and it's pretty easy as you only have 20-30 sections to change.
Later you can eventualy convert this cc-line to .gp4 to get the visual aid in game but it's not necessary.

CC-line created :D

New problem though, when I try to edit the cameras, I receive the following message "Sorry but camera is pointing to missing sectors", and the pop-up with the properties of the cameras don't show up

Probably the original track has had - let's say - about 1,300 track sectors and there was a camera positioned in sector 1,295.
But now, your new track has got only 1,200 sectors any more, so the sector of the camera is not existing.

--> Delete the wrong cam and create new ones if needed ;-).

Ok the error message stopped, but the pop up with the cameras properties still doesn't show up :( I'm using GP4 Builder, is there any other way to edit the camera details?

In doubt, create a new txt file and copy paste the 2 lines below in it :
REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Lo2k's Tools\3DEditor" /v "CamsWinXPos" /t REG_SZ /d 50
REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Lo2k's Tools\3DEditor" /v "CamsWinYPos" /t REG_SZ /d 50

save the file, rename it "fix.reg" and double click it. Approve the update (I assume you will have to press Y for Yes) and start GP4 Builder again.
The above lines just reset camera properties window position, if you ever displaced it out of the screen.

Thanks Lo2k

The .reg didn't worked but when I opened the 3D editor instead of the GP4 builder everything was ok, so I should be able to finish my first track now :D

I was using GP4 Builder, instead of using it I changed to your old 3D Editor(from 2006), and everything was okay
