Squier are definatly best to start with. The strat shape is such a great shape to get used to, and the necks are pretty good for learning both chords and bar chords. Ebay is definatly a good place, or look at local music shops really. As for an amp, to start with, go for a cheap little marshall, with last you a long time.by MattB - Off-Topic

Thats the way vader! Though, ive never liked distortion on bass. Ive tried emulated analog (Plug in for cubase sx) but I just dont think it ever sounds right. And standard tuning all the way, drop-D is slightly acceptable On my guitar, I always like it the distortion quite bright and strong, but not too heavy/bassy. On bass, its gotta be bright and kinda 'twangy'.by MattB - Off-Topic
I was looking at a ME50, especially after playing with the bass one, but Ive found im not really an effects person, so thought better of it. Got built in effects with my amp, flange is fun () with some ska and chorus is ok to mess with, but never really touch them.by MattB - Off-Topic
skaskaskaskaskaskaskaskaskaskaska Not much of a prog rock fan really, tho I love Pink Floyd, Gilmours one of my idols. I notice alot of Indie fags calling indie @#$%& 'Alternative' because they just dont want to admit to being indie. Fags.by MattB - Off-Topic
I just downloaded the FIFA 09 demo and found it wouldnt see my 360 controller, which is quite annoying, football games suck on keys/mouse so screw that. PES09 demo on its way...by MattB - Other Games

Im with quinn. At the time my insurance came through, I was 19 and with 1 years no claims, 1998 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16v came at £750 for the year 3rd party F&T. Which seems a bit high compared to some of the other quotes here :S But then again, my postcode is black listed for car crimeby MattB - Off-Topic

My first outing to a race track with the D70s, only armed with a 28-80mm lens, so apologies for lack of zoom alot of the time, and for the amount of fencage. But here they are:by MattB - Other Motorsports

PSU is an Antec NeoHE 550W, though it is over 3 years old now. I like the setup of separate drives rather than partitions, seems safer and easier. You've lost me a bit on the USB host thing though :\ As far as id use it, is just stick the drive in the enclosure, plug it in, drop everything over and then done? Another quick question, is it possible to 'deactivate' a copy of wiby MattB - Off-Topic
Hmm, well we do have this problem at the minute where all the plugs upstairs are tripping out, and we cant figure out why. Its definatly not the PSU, bugger cost £85. Like I said though, I going to cut down to two hard drives I think, with a 500 and a 320 rather than 2 250s and a 160, so Ill end up swapping them all with that anyway. Ill have a think about the Icybox also though. Cheers for tby MattB - Off-Topic
Just to hijack a pc problem topic im thinking I have a bad HDD. I have 3HDDs all set up (All sata but no RAID), one with OS, one with Music, Downloads, Data etc and the 3rd just for movies and things. Recently, theres been problems with startup and disk detection, some times requires rebooting. Once it gets onto loading Windows up, it can take upto 10 mins to boot up, and is then still very uby MattB - Off-Topic
