Meh frankly.... Upend a sack of salt. People have been getting excited about a non coming retro McLaren livery for years.

F1 In many ways I agree. I look at the nineties era through rose tinted specs as it was the era which inspired me as a seven or eight year old boy. Beautifully sleek looking cars which were quite frankly an assault on the senses with characters to match. I loved it.
I've only watched the current hybrid cars from the trackside once, which was the post British Grand Prix test... and although (

F1 Isn't Paddy Lowe out of contract by the end of year anyway? So there wouldn't be any gardening leave to waive. Lowe to Williams looks ever more likely following Symonds stepping down to retirement.
I imagine the negotiations will be more of a financial/technical nature with regards the engines.. a discount? Increased technical support?
I do think they'll need a better long te

F1 Apparently Niki Lsuda has taken this all rather badly. Maybe Nico ought to have pulled up and walked away with immediate effect during a practice session
Mind you, I guess he did leave them in somewhat of a predicament.

F1 I think it depends on how they want to field their line up going forward.
If they want the best possible drivers then I'd be very surprised if the likes of Alonso and Vettel aren't currently searching their contracts for holes to drop through.
If they plump for an easier time of it from a internal rivalry point of view then the choice is obvious.. Wehrlein or if they're feeli

F1 Wow... I genuinely thought my girlfriend was on the windup when she told me.
Still... In retrospect it does kind of make sense and what a way to retire, as world champion!
I wouldn't be surprised if Nico disappeared from the F1 scene for a while now and went to university.

F1 Toto will most likely and privately take Hamilton aside and say something along the lines of 'Now look here you little s**t' but won't actually do anything which affects him racing.

F1 I made a bit of a mistake by labelling Hamilton a 'hypocrypt' ...
Of course he's not that.... He is a bit of a hypocrite though

F1 I think he should use the #1.
He may never get the chance to use it again so may as well enjoy it whilst he can.

F1 Phroaww that was the tensest game of chess I ever saw.
Ok.. So that was very very exciting and I wouldn't change anything which happened. But Hamilton really let his colours shine through. What a hypocrypt.. Trying the backing up tactic after taking pains to point out that was exactly the kind of thing he wouldn't do. And then ignoring the team instruction to speed up. Fair enough, i

F1 If we get a straight forward race... Hamilton wins the Grand Prix, Rosberg comes home second.. the internet will still go into meltdown.
Why?
Because Rosberg will be champion despite only winning 9 races to Hamilton's 10.
My preference is for Rosberg to win both the race and championship. I think it's time another driver had the reason to be as insufferable as Hamilton and Vet

F1 We also have to accept rightly or wrongly that in today's society it's less and less socially acceptable to put people at high risk especially for something which is a sporting activity.
Over the years F1's drive towards safety has been staggering.. it's risk management is effectively second to none.
Yes.. on occasion it saps much of the excitement out of it. But they ca

F1 That moment for Kimi... Had me clearing up a puddle on my sofa.
So.. Hamilton - Rosberg title goes down to the wire. On evidence of today and the last three races, Hamilton has the performance edge. But Rosberg could have so easily lost it all today... still finished second though so he'll be having a sigh of relief for a good for a couple of weeks.
Great stuff by Verstappen.. how he k

F1 A grown man near or in his thirties behaving like a pubesamt teenager is the best thing to have happens to F1?
No, sorry.
That finish had the ingredients to be as memorable as Mansell going around the outside of Berger..... Instead it was ruined by someone screaming like a little toddler over the radio.

F1 Goodness knows that Michael Schumacher had his flaws, but it's very difficult to imagine him launching a radio attack on Charlie Whiting knowing not only that he can hear it but that it's also broadcast on the TV feed.
That clip that Morbid posted above is hilarious, it reminded me of me throwing tantrums when I lost at F197 on the PlayStation or something

F1 Seb, is a driver who got very used to winning very early in his career and he still hasn't quite come to terms that someone else happens to be winning at the moment.
Yes we love him because he's charismatic and has a sense of humour on him.... he's also a whinging cry baby and has been developing this tendency to throw tantrums ever since lifting the 2010 championship. He always

F1 Yeah... Ferrari basically evaporated at the end.
Williams just had no pace at all what so ever, I think Force India would have beaten them today on almost any strategy. At this stage Force India deserve 4th in the constructors because they're simply better at getting more from the package they've got than Williams.
Another easy day for Rosberg, the winning margin looks relatively

F1 I've never been much a fan of Hamilton's personality. His snapchating behaviour in the press conference was definitely on the immature side even if it is daft to take offence from it. Personally I didn't but obviously some did.
On the face if it, it's relatively harmless but I do think he's forgotten that he's there representing the Mercedes brand and whilst they&

F1 I kind of see Steve as Jake MkII.
The C4 coverage has picked up some of the vibe of the BBC coverage, not surprising given how it's effectively the BBC crew but they do seem to have good chemistry.
I like it when they let DC and Webber loose on the grid... you can almost see Christan Haliwell thinking '@#$%&, I thought I was rid of those two'.

F1 That's a shame.. But it's kind of neat he's chosen to go on his terms instead of petering out without a drive like Barrichello.
For a driver who was stood down after his debut season and once described as being incapable of even driving in a straight line I think he did rather well. A bracful of wins and close as you can get to a championship without actually winning it.

F1 Imola 1994 seems like such a distant memory now and F1 has done a remarkable job and be very fortunate to only have two fatalities since that terrible weekend. But you only have to look outside to realise just how dangerous Motorsport remains.
Surtees, Wheldon, Wilson, Bianchi to name but a few lost to head injuries.

F1 I basically do the same thing...
I have no real problems with either to be honest, except when channel 4 News decide to air the race report immediately before showing the highlights.
I think perhaps Channel 4 has the edge on the punditry as the chemistry works well between them all... Plus Chandhok is infinitely more likeable than Davidson. I love the way DC and Webber bounce off each othe

F1 It's possibly a step in the correct direction (which may be ruined when the halo finally comes in) but it probably doesn't go far enough.
Let's face it... F1 cars have simply had all the excitement engineered out of them and it's going to take rather more than a slightly funky shaped rear wing and slightly wider tyres to fix that.
I showed my mum a poster of the pics I r

F1 Lol that was an epically long Q1, my tv ran out memory whilst recording it all and missed from part way through Q2, had to resort to catch up.
Notable performances today:
Nasr, for being quick in the wetter conditions.
Bottas and Williams, for taking a gamble on slicks and getting an unwilling car into Q3. I thought they may have gone too early risking the tyres being shot by the end of Q2,

F1 I'll be a bit late to the party on this one too but... I saw the hybrid era cars in the carbon fibre as it were for my first time, I can't believe it's been since 2010 since I'd last saw an F1 car in action.
And oh boy... Was I wrong (back in 2014) when I said the sound of the hybrid turbos would be just fine. Today at Silverstone I couldn't bloody hear them, almost at

F1 Typical F1.. focuses in on the wrong areas. These radio communication bans are getting rediculous. I'm beginning to think that these hybrid engines are far too complicated. Ant Davidon did a feature on just how many settings the drivers have to control from the steering wheels.. honestly there are hundreds if not thousands of possible modes and settings.
Now, I'm sorry but how is tha
