You are quite on the money with those considerations. Formula E could be grand in time (... in time mind you!), and they are certainly doing a much better job at the level of the framework of the series than F1 is doing.by Morbid - F1

Well, the current engine regs are a disaster on so many issues, regardless of them being comprehensible or not. Let's take a look at some facts, that I got from Kiesa during the coverage of the last race. The current budget for a year's worth of engines is at least 20£ million, which is double that of what it was with the V8s. There is no question that this pushed both Marussia and Cby Morbid - F1
Bernie's suggestion that F1 is better off with old rich people, than poor young people, is really the same thing as his suggestions on sprinklers and track shortcuts. On paper, you get what you want. In reality, you get nothing close to what you really want. In marketing, getting young people to switch to your product is like striking gold. A certain portion of consumers will not switch to aby Morbid - F1

To be fair, Bernie doesn't get much of the money any more. The real money is taken home by the rights holders. CVC has had a return on investment of 751,3% since they made their move in 2006. It's not so much financial troubles, as it is the new management funding the operations since the sale, while Fernandes claims there has been no payment, so he kept the shares. The leadership appointed from stock majority is from Fernandes controlled assets, so he still owns the team, still calls the shots, but doesn't pay for it. Since I have not made a case for that episode requiring an SC, and at no point have I involved it in any of my arguments here, I don't have to defend it. As for the statement made by Valentino, it relies on some basic assumptions. 1) That he has a qualified insight into how F1 works 2) That there is a safety issue that must be adressed, which is not present in MotoGP. 3) That what hby Morbid - F1
A pretty cheap comment, when you come from a sport, where recovery vehicles hardly are used.by Morbid - F1
I can't find any reports on the degree of the diagnosis. Mild and moderate have good recovery rates, but I am pretty sure we can exclude mild. He has at least three things going for him: he is young, incredibly fit and top grade medical care was administered quickly, so all hope is not lost. Yeah, that was Heidfeld crashing into the medical car in warm up even though the session had been red flagged. I saw the clip that you are thinking of marcl. It looks very similar to the Franz Engstler example I gave. I found it in this compilation of stupid moments with safety cars @ 6 minutes and 53 seconds. It seems SC are a much bigger hazard in racing than recovery vehicles.by Morbid - F1
I have found another example. Franz Engstler hit a recovery vehicle in Porto in 2013. Mind you, the safety car had already been deployed, and exactly as argued here, the entire grid ignored yellow flag conditions and rushed to catch up to the SC, which caused this situation. As you can see, there is even another car that spins in that clip. It seems to be a Franz Engstler thing, as heby Morbid - F1
So what you are saying is, that it hasn't happened, but you could find situations that you considered similar. Which means, it was extremely unlikely and unusual. Similar things, yes could happen. That thing, not happened since god knows when.by Morbid - F1

I can't really connect with the FIA always been reactive. First of all, we learn through experience. That is how things go. Secondly, your statement requires that the FIA have not made a single independent initiative in 20 years. That is some bold statement. I'd like to see some documentation on that. According to Sutil, he went off because there was a puddle in that corner, that was not there on the previous lap. I think it is safe to say, that it was the same puddle that Bianchi caught and made him lose control. Sutil said it was impossible to see the puddle, because of the poor lighting conditions. If he is right, then there is a simple fix. Mandate that every race is to be held at 14.00 loby Morbid - F1
