lol... is there actually any point in us running this now? As far as I can see we'll have just 6 of us racing? Neil Stratton Simon "teh" Steal Dave Ellis Nick Vsomething Paul boy Ville Jarvinenby Glyn - Other Games

oooooooookey dokey... unless we get the VT server moved to new hardware it ain't gonna be able to host it reliably enough at the moment. Is 800 Kbps upload bandwidth enough to host this do you think, or does anyone have a quicker upload? Edit: New hardware arrived, so it'll be a good testby Glyn - Other Games
OK, the VT server has been upgraded now so I have enough RAM and hard disk space to run rF on a one off basis. Everyone OK with 8pm next Saturday??by Glyn - Other Games
If I could get a figure on how much hard disk space a standard rF install takes I could say if I could host a server. The other option is one of us host it ourselves but Neil isn't on MSN at the moment to be able to ask him anything. With it being so close to the start my vote would be to have the race at the same time next Saturday which gives us a week to sort out a server.by Glyn - Other Games
I would install it on the VT server with it's 100 Mbps connection, but when I asked about system requirements in another thread I got back 512 Mb RAM, which is all the server has. Don't forget it's running other things like IIS, MySQL to name a few. How much bandwidth is needed to host a race for the numbers we have? Chances are we may be able to do it off a home connection maybby Glyn - Other Games

I'm sure Neil will enable TC and ABS as it will help those who are struggling (for controller reasons or otherwise) and the front runners will probably have it off anyway for the extra control and speed it offers.by Glyn - Other Games

Was that Rich? I PMed him on the VT forums and he told me he wasn't racing but he had setup a server for us to use. I take it you didn't know that?by Glyn - Other Games

Was it specifically designed for the v1.1 physics or is it an old setup?by Glyn - Other Games

You'll quite often see 'may contain up to 5% ethanol' written on the pumps, especially at supermarkets. I know Tesco source their fuel from so many different locations it's basically a big mix. You can be almost sure you've had the 2% ethanol in your tank before. The stations would have started selling it before the date I'm sure to avoid having some stock that doesn't contain it.by Glyn - Off-Topic
I'd race it that to race something different other than a Papy sim, but it would really need to be a weekday for me, not Tuesdays or Wednesdays. That's quite a tall order though lolby Glyn - Other Games

After driving round for 30 mins grumbling about nothing but understeer and in the 2:14s I realised I had traction control switched on low for the BMW F1 mod. Turned it off and the car came to life and I got a 2:11.6. Really struggling with the setup though with these new physics. I've got the one Neil edited for last years race which is OK, but I can't find seem to find any middle grounby Glyn - Other Games

It didn't seem worth creating a seperate thread for this, but does anyone know what the system requirements are for the rFactor dedicated server? I'm mainly looking at RAM, CPU and hard disk usage. Cheersby Glyn - Other Games
55.5 mpg I've seen from this Usually I get 46-48 mpg, but petrols about £4.80 a gallon at the momentby Glyn - Off-Topic

Get yourself an MS Sidewinder FFB wheel from eBay. Also some of the older Logitech ones are highly recommended but I'm not the best person to ask which models should be avoided. I'm sure someone like Gav will give a detailed spec list soonby Glyn - Other Games

Last year we were doing 2:06s, but Neil said he's somewhere around the 2:10 mark with the v1.1 physics. That's the first time I found out they had changed the physics but that seems a pretty decent lap to me.by Glyn - Other Games
