Technically, I don't know where I should place this topic as off-topic doesn't even seem appropriate. Without going into needless discussion on the viability of gasoline engines for either mainstream transportation or racing, the future of electric motor racing doesn't seem very far away to me. Sure, major problems need to be overcome, but they will be eventually. The advances in e

Other Motorsports The newest edition of ZaZ GP4 Tools is pretty stable to boot! Nice work.
I'm running GP4 on my newest PC which uses an internal nVidia 6150SE chipset. One day I'll probably buy a PCI-E graphics card, but the onboard video isn't terrible, but it isn't great, either. It'll do for now. However, nVidia's latest driver for Vista seems a bit immature as I'm having

Grand Prix 4 Well, it's working now for some bizarre reason. I tried running gp4.exe with administrator priviledges previously, but the updater would just abort. Also, I had run GP4 initially right after installing it so I'm confused at this point. Anyhow, thanks for clarifying the issue. It seems that only GP4.EXE needs administrator privileges.
Thanks again.

Grand Prix 4 I installed ZaZ GP4 Tools (latest beta), but I constantly receive the error, "Not enought access to read from the registry. If you are running Windows Vista, make sure you grant administrator rights to the executable. Right click the exe file and go to properties. Then select run as administrator."
Well, I've followed this procedure to the letter, but I can't get past the d

Grand Prix 4 I, too, appreciate the fine work from everyone involved in this project from the tool builders to the artists, but ZaZ deserves a special note of thanks for making these mods readily available to the masses who simply couldn't or wouldn't do the patching themselves.

Grand Prix 4 Laguna Seca is just an awesome track! Yeah! I'd love to see a F1 event there if possible! I'll never forget watching Jim Hall's Chaparral GEV (2J) there just chewing up the track!

Grand Prix 4 The modifications for GP4 just keep getting better. I like the improved stability of Zaz's tools in patching GP4. Life is good and thanks to everyone involved with updating GP4 as much as possible.

Grand Prix 4 It's too early to decide. Wait until Geoff releases GP5.
Seriously, why ask for opinions? If you like rFactor, buy it and enjoy. Personally, I'm staying with GP4.

Grand Prix 4 Thanks! The 1995 modification actually changes the atmosphere of GP4 due to different tracks, cars, and sound. Geoff Crammond must be aware of this madness. It's great!

Grand Prix 4 Guess! This racing simulation has potential, but you'd never know it from this image.
It's running on Linux:
Edit: I've removed the link as this simulation is so much better than the image indicates. I'll wait until the developers have the screenshot function operating properly.

Grand Prix 4 Great thread! Personally, I like unedited shots for numerous reasons, but primarily because it forces the person taking the snapshot to use his/her creativity in judging when to capture the image. As the quality and variety of GP4's tracks and cars continues to grow, so will the opportunities for great images. Keep it up!

After testing v2.0, I'm really impressed with everyone's work on this modification for GP4. It's great and extremely well done. Wow!
THANKS!

Grand Prix 4 Yes, I like the appearance. I absolutely love the disappearance of the avatar. The new look is much more professional and less tacky, but I'd like more contrast, i.e. a whiter background, in the text of the message. Just swapping the background colors of the box containing the subject, date, and author with the box containing the text would help greatly with readability.

Thanks for helping me out here with the smaller, more efficient format. For the first time in months, I didn't grow a full beard waiting for a page to load.

Grand Prix 4 I'm starting a new thread for JUST GP4 screenshots. As nice as the screenshots are from other racing simulations, I'd just like to see GP4 images without the excess clutter. If anyone posts here OTHER than me, try to keep the images at 800x600 and in JPEG format. Hopefully, loading of the pages will proceed faster with the images no larger than 800x600 in JPEG format. Since I don't

Grand Prix 4 OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES
Overall, I rate this album 4 out of 5. It's very solid, but I have some gripes. Although, I don't think the album is overproduced, it seems to be misproduced in at least one aspect. The electric bass is too prominent in relation to the percussion on the majority of tracks. At first, I thought the percussion was just rather weak, but the electric bass just o

Off-Topic OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES (First Impression)
Ray's sheer genius is on display here. Wow! I'm not even a Kinks fan, but maybe I should be. If this album is any indication, Ray should spend more time in America. One of the hallmarks of a truly classic album is the progressive listening power of each track. I'll have much more to say over time about this album from the lyrics and

Off-Topic Can you find the panel? HeHe...I HATE panels. With XFCE 4.3.x, a panel can be made 100% transparent. Moving the mouse over the panel will show and activate it. BTW, the panel is located in the upper right corner of the screen just above the sign. I can hardly wait for a new method of interacting with the desktop, a Looking Glass derivative, perhaps?

Off-Topic Ray Davies (Kinks) is just about to release his newest solo effort, Other People's Lives. I haven't heard it yet, but fans naturally love it. When I do, I'll post some of my thoughts. I'll try to be critical but fair. I'll never forget his Preservation Act series. Money & Corruption (I'm Your Man) and Here Comes Flash just stick in my brain.
