Nice livery on the Renault, but i seriously hope that these massive fins on the engine covers get banned soon, as they make what could be nice looking cars seem awful.

F1 Rosberg seemed to have a good season, but going against him is the fact that he hasn't been measured against a top driver since his first season with Webber. Obviously he will have improved since then, but by how much we will have to wait until next season to find out! Deserves a go in a top car though.

F1 I'd say Hamilton is going to be feeling rather more relaxed and contented about next season than he might have been ^^

F1 F1's loss. Brawn with Button/Rosberg and Mclaren with Hamilton/Raikkonen would have been immense.

F1 Was reading autosport and was pretty gutted to see that Nigel Roebuck wouldn't be contributing to it anymore from after this weeks issue. Just wondering if anybody knew exactly why. Is he retiring from F1 journalism, or just stopping going to the races or what? :S

F1 Very hard to tell from the onboard video if he pushes the button before or after the gearbox packs in, but why would he be pushing a button at the apex of a corner if everything was hunky dory? I just don't see why he wouldn't admit to it, he's admitted to pretty much every other error. The truth will out i'm sure, looking forward to thursdays autosport anyway.

F1 Hasn't the whole 'Lewis pressed the wrong button' theory been debunked? Apparently was some canadian newspaper that just made it up.

F1 To be fair, i read a quote from Alonso just a week or so ago saying that Ron hadn't promised him #1 status or anything. I think he just kind of assumed he would be seeing as he was signed a season before and his teammate wasn't decided until end of last season.

Williams driver Alex Wurz has confirmed his immediate retirement from racing in Formula 1.
The 33-year-old Austrian will not compete for the team in the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix and ends his career with 69 race starts and three podium finishes.
Wurz, who made his F1 debut as a stand-in for Gerhard

F1 What a strange remark. Of course he would still be a worthy champion, Besides, the other potential champions have also had 'silly mistakes', see Alonso in Spain & Canada, or Kimi at Monaco for instance!

F1 Yea its pretty stupid. In 2005 Kimi won that brilliant Japanese grand prix, coming through the field and overtaking Fisichella for the lead on the last lap. Clearly the best drive of the season but it didn't get it because it couldn't be voted for :/

F1 Had just read 'Windsors Wisdom' article on the itv-f1 site, and there was a link to the Man of the Year voting, so with 5 minutes to spare I decided to fill it out. One category in particular looks pretty farcical to me though, the 'drive of the year'.
The contenders being:
Lewis Hamilton - Australia
Fernando Alonso - Malaysia
Felipe Massa - Spain
Takuma Sato

Very true. I'm still subscribed too, you do get some good stuff in them still, just need to sift thru the shite too. With Bishop leaving maybe we will get an improvement anyway.

F1 One thing that really annoys me with F1 Racing these days is those articles, usually written by Peter Windsor i think, where he 'goes inside the head' of the driver and writes it as if he is the driver himself almost.
That, and the fact that one month they can have an article on one driver, the next month on his teammate, and completely contradict the content of the previous article

F1 @dkpioe:
Fisichella was also voted best driver by his F1 competitors, i forget the year, but it was in early 00's. Suppose that makes the whole grid pretty stupid too? :D

F1 Exactly, some IP transfer is always going to happen when personnel move teams, that is the 'inevitable' happening that F1 folk talk about. Nothing can be done about it and everybody accepts that. Possessing and allegedly using a 780 page dossier of your rivals technical information is quite another, and linking the two doesn't excuse what happened in the spy scandal, if both were t

F1 Probably because, as Max points out, he still carries some influence with some big companies and such. The most recent example i can think of is when i was reading Nigel Roebucks Fifth Column and in it Jackie Stewart was quoted comparing the movement of employees from one team to another as the same as what was happening in the spy scandal, and he couldn't comprehend why it was being brought

F1 I agree with most of what Mosley says. Some of the stuff JYS comes out with is just so so stupid, actually makes me cringe at times because a lot of people have respect for the things he's done and he undermines himself a lot these days with some very ill-founded or OTT opinions

F1 It's the same in any sport/business though. Nobody cares in tour de france or athletics if some crap athlete is banned for taking drugs, but if it's a big name then the media and other competitors are all over it.

McLaren lose 2007 points, fined $100m
By Steve Cooper and Jonathan Noble Thursday, September 13th 2007, 18:06 GMT
McLaren-Mercedes have lost their constructors' championship points for the 2007 season and will pay a record fine of $100 million USD, the FIA World Motor Sport Council decided today.
McLaren have not commented on the decision and said they will hold a press confere

F1 People jumping the gun a bit saying Hamilton and Alonso can't compete with Mclaren for rest of year, as nowhere has it said that the 2007 cars have been deemed 'illegal'. So far the only thing reported is that the penalty was due to possessing the confidential Ferrari documents. In my opinion it will come out that Mclaren can carry on racing, not score any constructors points for r
