either is don't like the wad file or you renamed a file it was pointing atby munnzy - Grand Prix 4

great idea and i welcome the collection of GP4 files in one place. A couple of thoughts though. 1) how to stop people selling car sets on Ebay etc. 2) how to credit the artist and modders for their work. 3)i would welcome more sharing of how to mod and paint. anyone else want to share their thoughts ?? regards to all Munnzyby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
I believe converting cars to GP4 is ok as long as you have the blessing of the creators, modders or artist. this not always being possible to contact or get permission is the sticking point.by munnzy - Grand Prix 4
good work, now you got the modding bug you can't stopby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
This often happens, the reason being in GP4 builder you need to use a tga file to see the graphics correctly as these are flipped using simtex to tex files o then add into the cars wad. to view your car correctly go to the part and it's properties so you can see the texture you are using to cover that part. below this is mapping, flip the texture vertically and it will show correctly.by munnzy - Grand Prix 4
shiny cars are usually to do with the alpha layer of the tex file relating to the car body work.. if you use simtex to convert the tga files to tex, a right click will show you the alpha layer behind the painting, if it is white it will be a shiny car, dark alpha layers show as more dull effectby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
with mirrors you must have 2 separate items z_cockpit_right_mirror z_cockpit_left_mirror also behind this a mirror shape as background or the mirror in game will be see through as it is using the cockpit_damage file. before i have picked the mirrors in GP4 builder and separated them into left and right. there are good tutorials on how to adjust them for best results. have a look atby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
you can change language in the gp4 menu optionsby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
There is a tutorial for this from GP4forever.by munnzy - Grand Prix 4
omg it is going very well. when i did my first car it was high and backwards lol. i used Team editor to check the height of the car and it's position forward. it has taken people on here many hours to do what you have achieved in such a short time, well done keep going, we are here to help and gezere is one of the best to advise you, thank you gezere i learnt some tips with this as wellby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
The blinking cars in game especially with suspension is due to UV mapping. to get this right import each item like suspension into zmodeler 107 and select the material, ie carbon and also the object box at the top, . in the uv window will show the material and the part. then move the part into the picture of the material and its done. took me ages to find and do this successfully but it works.by munnzy - Grand Prix 4
you can remove the green colour by picking the object from the side bar, then from the menu at the top , pick action and then remove green object and it will be white . keep going you are doing so well in a short time.by munnzy - Grand Prix 4
Good to see you are getting stuck in mate. people have their own different ways of converting. personally i think you have done well. export each part you have from zmodeler 2 as .Z3d parts and then open with zmodeler 107. open each part individually in zmodeler 107 and make sure the dds file is replaced with the tga version, also make sure the UV mapping is correct at this point. Once thisby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
Look at the UV mapping. you have a tex attached to the material but when in long distance it changes colour. !! Just a thought but good looking car thoughby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
if you start csm and click on the 2016 mod. you will see the folder associated. look in data folder then performance folder, the txt files are there to edit. hope this helpsby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
several ways to adjust, the easiest is to amend the performance file txt and make sure it is selected in gpxpatchby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
you Sir are a star and we would all be lost with GP4 Builder. Thank you for your efforts allwaysby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
i agree it's too many triangles in the detail of the car, this has happened to me when i unweld parts. hope this gives you a work around as i like your conversions and you got me doing the same. regards to allby munnzy - Grand Prix 4
