Hi all. I'm making '94 ferrari 412T1. The shape is almost done and now i'm making textures for it. I started with ferrari_2.TGA/TEX. I created a hi-res (1024x1024) texture, map it to the car, absolutely no problems. In-game it looks fine. But then i moved to ferrari_1 and here begun some troubles. I made it all as usual - in the same way as ferrari_2 - create a hi-res TGA, map itby mckey415 - Grand Prix 4
Actually I think that idea of uniting engine, cockpit and sidepods is not so bad. In most crashes only nose and front wings are damaged (only if you not trying to wreck the car). I mean that situations when the car split into two are very seldom. And if you take into account that to do right damage model you have to separate parts of the car, create inner surfaces, split it from outer parts forby mckey415 - Grand Prix 4

the default value for Y coord for minardi helmet is -17 (in terms of CamEditor by Lo2K). If you want to move helmet back you have to decrease this value, for example set it to -20.by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4

Duffer: what's your e-mail? didn't found it in your profile...by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4
sorry, mp4/8 - it's just a misprint. of course it's a '94 mclaren with philippe alliot at the wheel. Gav: Alliot was a Peugeot protege and McLaren test-driver in 1994. He substituted Mika Hakkinen in Hungary when Finn has a problem with appendicitis. He placed 14th in qualifying and retired in the race due to water leak. not bad at all!!! but the cockpit walls before the sidepod air intakes should be a little wider... just like at this photoby mckey415 - Grand Prix 4

ah! didn't know that it's nemo's williams coords... in gp4form for Williams they're in gp4tweaker format...by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4
Duffer: glad to hear it. how do you determine coords for wheels and helmet? i use original gp4 y and z coords for wheels - i change only X (10 cm). I see you use different Y coords - how do you determine it? will your new car will be made with the same approach to coords? waiting for screenshots!!!by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4

darrenj Everyone who develop the cars for GP4 use ZModeler (www.zmodeler.com) for creating carshapes and some kind of image editing software like Photoshop or PaintShopPro. I use Photoshop 6.0.1.by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4
To erwin_78: If you saw my website (http://f1ad.narod.ru), you would understand that i'm a big fan of 1993-1996 racing. and to do 1993 carset in collaboration with you and some other guys is a very intresting idea and a big temptation for me . But why not 94? The first car is near to completion Anyway, you can e-mail (f1ad@narod.ru) me and we'll discuss this idea more closely. And oby mckey415 - Grand Prix 4
to erwin_78 Actually i'm thinking about 1994 carset but not sure that it'll be done. I'm too busy in real life and don't have much time for modeling for gp4, although it's a big pleasure to me Post Edited (08-01-03 04:46)by mckey415 - Grand Prix 4

He-he!!! Actually I tried to resolve all this problems a little earlier but didn't succeed. The problem with fliiped textures and incoorect mapping in ZM is in TGA file format. If you create a file in Photoshop and try to save in as tga it will ask you to enter a TGA format: 16, 24 or 32 bits/pixel. The tga's that you download from EMAC's site are 32 bpp. BUT!!!
