I find this a bit strange because the tex files look just like an earlier 1999 mod. However Nick you may have updated and changed the tex and lod files - I would'nt be able tell. With regard copyright, as a professional writer myself, my understanding is there is a need to change at least 5% of the body of a text. However if an image is changed - not so sure about that. My understanding is tby davidm - Grand Prix 4
No problem. I think I've got most tracks if anyone needs one.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Hope this works for you. It can only be downloaded 10 times.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
I've hunted around for a Paul di Resta helmet and can't find one. Would anyone know where one could be found? Thanks alot.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
These tracks look brilliant - can't wait to try them. One question, I have a problem with the currently available Montreal and Imola 91 tracks which both CTD if you take a break and try to save part way through. It is quite difficult sometimes to have an hour and a half plus without taking a break. Many thanks for your work though.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
What about if you gave them a certain amount of freedom. They had to stop at least once in a race and the tyre supplier brings all 4 compounds and the teams must choose their two compounds for quali and race day at the end of Thurs/Fri practice. Surely this would bring a real dilemma in strategy and planning?by davidm - F1
You really think Red Bull are up to it across a season?by davidm - F1
On your collective view of the earlier points all taken onboard. However you do seem to come down on the side of him being a fairly decent racer, certainly as good as a Mansell or Montoya. On the second point I was referring to after the SC had been released - I think turn 5 or 6., Michael dfended very strongly. One felt that had nothing to do with this race more "what will be when I'mby davidm - F1
Sorry - must'nt be an old codger but James was fairly critical particularly prior to Nigel's first Brands win in '85. It was also a generally held view in the racing press that he was a "journeyman". They all resented it when he turned it round and proved them wrong, it took a very long time for him to be accepted for what he was. The Patrese issue went back to Ronnieby davidm - F1
To be fair I think Hamilton does stand comparison now with both Mansell and Montoya. I maybe getting over the hill but when Mansell was competing in the 80s most people would say he was seriously overrated and a waste of space, you probably never heard James Hunt having a go. I don't think the comparison of Alonso and Senna is the right one. It should be Alonso and Prost. As Fernando himby davidm - F1
I think to some degree you are all doing Hamilton down a bit. He has done the best job overtaking this season across the races so far. One also senses yet again an element of anti Hamilton here too. I think it was fair enough he showed Michael respect on those opening exchanges. What was interesting later that no one seems to have picked up on was what he said in his interview after the raceby davidm - F1
I sort of accept that but Button is not doing too badly in a car designed around Lewis Hamilton. Maybe the McLaren guys are just that bit better at adapting the car for him than the Mercedes folk. It was a worrying comparison today looking at Vettel in the last corner and Michael. Just think back to what he did with a bad Ferrari in 96, you can't see him back at that level. I hope I'm wby davidm - F1
I think this is right. The duct is offset by the turbulent air. What it may do is give them opportunities to increase their downforce levels. Maybe helpful this weekend in the high speed corners.by davidm - F1
Is that really likely? Alonso will surely assume the status of number one over a little time and Massa will be the ideal back up driver. They are unlikely to achieve better two car scores in races next year with Vettel or Kubica. Massa knows the team very well having been there so long. He is also likely to be a bit cheaper.by davidm - F1
Thanks to both Samuele and Excalibur for clarifying all this so well. It is enormously helpful to we folk with poor PCs.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Thank you Samuele for explaing that. To run the game with Igla's Mclaren as it is takes up nearly 20 mb of space in the cars.wad. This is the same forcing Car Lod O, the game still needs to read that lod 5 times. I cannot play the game with a cars.wad much over 100 mb in total.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Hi Pimpones Thanks for this brilliant car. Will you be doing amy lower lods like the F1 MG conversion. Would be hugely appreciated by all low spec PC fans.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
This looks brilliant guys. Would you be able to do lower lods like you did with the Virgin car for us folks with low spec PCs. Would be great if you were able.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
"It never will be, but that's not the point. It's the manner in which the Bahrain GP was boring which is the problem. We're all fully aware of the problem of cars being unable to follow, but not to the extent of Bahrain. It was all "we must protect the tyres!" or "engines!". It was turned into a survival race rather than an actual race. Off the top of mby davidm - F1
Hey - I hope they don't think its squabbling and I'm sorry if anyone has complained to you. I'm more than happy to exchange opinions and I'm surprised it has offended anyone else. As you say its a long season and also as you've pointed out there are some perhaps more important concerns about the format. I have to say I don't think Alonso would have got past Vettel wiby davidm - F1
"Isaint and davidm... The content of your discussion is fine, but please conduct it like adults and not kids in a playground. Thanks muchly." Point taken - fair enough. Just simply making two points. Michael was not where most people thought he would be prior to the start of the weekend and Jenson like Hamilton took one place at the pitstops. The drivers can't overtake. Butby davidm - F1
"Firstly it's a sport regardless of your personal feelings ..... if you are a man you give credit where it's due. Hamilton did well .... doesn't mean that I will inviting him over for dinner. Second you telling me that a reigning world Champion was just behind an ex world Champion who has been out of sport since 2006, does nothing for Buttons credibility especially when his coby davidm - F1
Ah yes - of course!by davidm - F1
"Schumacher did the best he could, considering the long break. Praise to Massa, Hamilton and Rosberg. Button was right where I expected him to be ... now where. " First, I can't believe you are praising Hamilton, given some of your earlier comments and second Button was right behind your man Schuey (who has had a lot of time to get rid of his rustiness) and would surely have gonby davidm - F1
I think that was because Williams tended to be happy with lower fuel running. I don't think Ross Brawn does this.by davidm - F1

These look great cars but none of the links seem to work.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Hello Pedro - I made this request in another post, these mods look to be fantastic. However with a lower spec PC the 1982 mod I cannot play without lower lods. Is their any chance of doing this? It would be hugely appreciated.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Is it possible to do lower lods? For us guys with leser spec PCs its not possible to use the new cars. It would be hugely appreciated by quite a few people I think.by davidm - Grand Prix 4
Hi Paul I am just going to cause a little stir as its many, many months before the new Korea track. Brilliant that you have gone back to 1996 but do you think it would be interesting to see a more historical perspective of your brilliant tracks. Why not go back a bit further to 1980 and start forward from there. The 1980s was an absolute classic period for f1 and it would be fantastic to run oby davidm - Grand Prix 3
