Nah, the GF4 420 mx is a waste of money. GF2 Ti is what you need.by chris - Grand Prix 4
No, I think he means that's a good framerate considering the pc. (gf2)by chris - Grand Prix 4
Surely it only works if you have a pants soundcard, which slows everything down?by chris - Grand Prix 4
Oh, sorry marc, I didnt see your system specs. In that case, youve got it working ok. I still say bump up the pit crew to full, it makes little difference to PO.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Morbid is a member of the forum. The setup master. I know what you mean, I feel it is easier than gp3 to control. The setups are very good, to allow console generation to play...making it easy to drive. However, make your own setup, or make the setup worse, then play it. Its more challenging.by chris - Grand Prix 4
mARC, you need to turn the detail up. My comp runs gp4 looking quite like that.... Pit crew is on low detail there, and cars are at least medium. Turn everything on full, then work backwards till you get a balance. Because it could look much better m8by chris - Grand Prix 4
Yeah, that's my aim. Dad, the proccessor just died! Dad "Oh well, I'll have to buy a p4 2.2gig etc pc" Me "Victory! I mean....ahem....I guess so."by chris - Grand Prix 4
I've defended them in the past, but it would appear that they are a bit @!#$.by chris - Grand Prix 4
And look how that ended. Enjoy itby chris - Grand Prix 4
It will run ok. Not great, but kinda mid range.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Cheers guys, I'll give it a go. It was bought in '98 so if it breaks, oh well.by chris - Grand Prix 4
I agree. There's no way the newer GF4 Ti 4400 is slower than its PREdecesor. Someone's lying, methinks.by chris - Grand Prix 4
OK, what is the limit of overclocking, say as a percentage increase of the card's original speed?by chris - Grand Prix 4
Get a GF2 Ti. Its cheap, and quick.by chris - Grand Prix 4
My gfx card is pretty crap, 8mb Matrox g200. So, in a desperate attempt to squeeze all I can from it, how would I go about overclocking it? What risks are there? etc etc Any info appreciated. Must get GP4 to run better!!by chris - Grand Prix 4
I agree Alex. Cai, I'd say it MUST be your gfx card. We know that this gp4 graphics engine relies on the card more thn processor, so that must be it.by chris - Grand Prix 4
"The Card is fairly quick" Your being sarcastic, right?!by chris - Grand Prix 4
Nicely. Have a look at other threads, they have more detail, on similar machines. You'll maybe get 35fps I'd say.by chris - Grand Prix 4
That's a step above mine, Bazza!by chris - Grand Prix 4
Hi Wedge! Havent seen you here in ages! btw to get the pic to work, put after Maybe its just me but gp4 seems a little arcady, but that's probably more to do with t-cam than anything else. It certainly feels at least as good as the gp3 2000 physics, but with different grip. Not particularly more, just different.by chris - Grand Prix 4
I heard driver support is terrible (display drivers, not F1 drivers) so that's an issue to consider.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Perhaps a small patch is better than another setback for release date.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Hi Mike vsmon is zone alarm, I think "when i start my loptop my computer freeze than i use ctrl alt and del key to see the massage is vsmon not responding i have to pull the plug every time and restart the computer again some times i have to restart 3 times, please help me with my problem" "yeah zone alarm pro 2.6 vsmon keeps freezing up at startup " And many more. Itby chris - Grand Prix 3
MORBID! This man wants setups, and there's only one person here I know who can do them using all the factors. Problem is, it seems to me that most circuits have good setups already, to make it accessible.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Alex, during a period of about an hour last night, I conducted a test to see how much my gfx card to cope with. I had bump mapping on environmental mapping, full pitcrew, full car detail etc and it was150% in free practice. But, the race was rather slow. So now I'm keeping bump mapping (what does it do?) and full pitcrew on, just cos it looks better.by chris - Grand Prix 4
Do you have to have it open for it to work, or can it just sit in your system tray?by chris - Grand Prix 4
